The company fails to address present issues in people power and focuses more on launching new products. There is a huge issue with title inflation multiple managers with no one reporting to them. After being here for a few years I have seen directors play favorites ALL the time. 

The turnover rate is still an issue. I have seen Directors and Managers leave within 2 years of being here. There is a huge issue with people power across all departments causing individuals to be stretched fin. 

For project related work there are no project managers besides one Manager. They picked individuals from each department to act as the PM for their department or area. If you work in tech or engineering stay away there whole infrastructure is backwards. The amount of times consultants have come in and complained about how the infrastructure of the equipment is set up is endless. A consultant laughed at a director when asked how much it would cost for them to fix everything wrong. 

With that being said the document management infrastructure of the whole company is a mess. No one knows what document templates to use and there is a severe lack of GDP principles. Huge issue with document controllers gatekeeping for reasons they cannot explain nor try to explain. 

The only perk of this place is you'll be able to get a ton of experience and exposure to different things at the cost of your mental health and free time. 

In a short synopsis, my typical work day is a nightmare, I learn a lot on the job, management is almost non-existent, the workplace culture is toxic, The hardest part is getting any documents approved, and finally the most enjoyable part of the job is going home everyday. 

Ferring is a company that "puts people first," per their oft referenced philosophy statement.  As a company, they do treat their employees as well as they can.  Benefits are nice, work hours are balanced, and the culture is very friendly.

However, as an employee working for their technology department, management is based out of Copenhagen, Denmark.  The IT management team has an absurd way of not only relying on consultants for the bulk of the work, but also for direction of the department as well.  Ideas and experience outside of the Copenhagen office are hopelessly ignored, and even looked down upon.  Change, at its core, is feared - unless, of course, suggested by a consultant.  This type of ideology has a direct effect on the business and budget.

In short, IT is hurting the business.

The work environment for IT employees outside of Copenhagen is a political game of trying to do your job with extremely limited resources while ensuring management stays happy by not suggesting any improvements to process.

From multiple re-orgs and job eliminations over at least the 5 years I was there, to understanding that some Managers/AD's have less expertise than the people they manage...it was an absolute horror show the last year I was there.  Ferring loves to play favorites, ignore team players who do most of the work while AD's take the solutions given by their direct reports and present it as their own.  Once you understand the Ferring culture, you understand who they really favor: Sales who drive $$, Execs and Senior Leadership who often ignore everyone but the favorites and they often keep very toxic people in positions where they will actively ensure their own tenure at the expense of their own hardworking direct reports who do majority of the work. Territorial and gatekeeping behavior with knowledge which stunts career growth.  Zero growth at Ferring, no professional development, only for the Yearly Goal optics.  I used to love Ferring, mostly because of the wonderful colleagues/now friends who made that place bearable.  Many people stay because of the benefits. Most leave because of the toxicity, chaos, favoritism and lack of growth.  The last (3) years, nothing but layoff after layoff, reorg after reorg.  Ferring is a mess and it is not a stable place for employment or a safe place for your well-being.    

Ferring used to have a great family feel culture but morale have been low for a long time.  Unfortunately, it's a very top heavy culture and not a lot of growth opportunities for anyone else.  Tend to focus more on retaining top talent and star performers, but does not look to develop solid/strong performers which makes up majority of the company AND do we have to even spell out that these employees carry the brunt of the workload to keep this company afloat on a day-to-day basis? I guess we do need to spell it out because piling on more workload when someone leaves tends to be their solution. 

Multiple employees have left a group because of a leader in that particular group on a few occasions, but management continues to turn a blind eye.  Employees have time and time again report their concerns to HR but nothing seems to be done.  After a while, you can't help but feel that HR's only concern is to appease upper management and not listen to the needs of the people.  But I guess doing what's right is very uncommon when your job can be at stake.

Joined team to support a few different people who seemed unhappy at their job and workplace. Was 100% misled and lied to by staffing agency on job description, policies, and manager support! Was blatenly and made very obvious that “contract” workers get treated like 3rd class citizens as did I! My onboarding was an absolute joke, computer problems daily that hindered my ability to do my job and no one cared. Last 4 weeks after I was  told my contract was 6 months with strong full time possibility. No one gave me a chance, I was set up for failure and on top of all of this I got Covid which also was another reason they “laid me off”. I am not sure how you can even be proud to work for a boss and company who treats you this way after 4 weeks of employment. Disgusting!! Stay away from the Sales Ops Department!!! Trust me!!!

Good  benefits, PTO, good people

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extremely stressful environment, no resources, no appreciation of management, no accountability of top management, socks HR that works for top management abd not fir the people, terrible turnover of emoyees I clouding site leadership team.

Endless Stresses, no accountability of manahement

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sugar coating, heat townhall meeting

Typical day- HR clocks when you arrive versus when you leave. Learn a lot as an entry level but by the time you get groomed and ready for a managerial position the opportunity is never presented and moving out of your orig dept to another area of the business is frowned upon. Hardest part of the job is finding advancement opportunities and managerial support therein. Most enjoyable part of the job was my colleagues and good people across the organization.

I truly loved my position with Ferring.  My manager was a great teacher and the company was solid.  I traveled Oregon and Washington calling on Orthopedic Surgeons and Rheumatologists selling an injection for Osteoarthritis of the knee.  I attended quarterly regional meetings and one national meeting each year.  The company was going to be sold so I decided to proactive and begin looking for a new position.  After I had left though I learned that the sales fell through.  I was extremely bummed that I just didn't wait to see the outcome before I left.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great people below VP level, convenient location, excellent restaurant!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Company has no idea of how to launch a product effectively in every therapy area other than reproductive health. Poor life cycle management and archaic leadership.

Mostly relaxed, nice Parsippany offices, caring culture

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Varied, little privacy as open cubicles.

For the past two months, my internship at Ferring has been absolutely excellent. I am learning extensively about the onboarding and recruiting processes of the Human Resources department here. The management is great, and my coworkers are very friendly and proactive. The most enjoyable part of the job would be that they have me immersed in the field of HR that I am interested in. Everyone here is very nice and I look forward to continuing my internship.
