Regular lack of basic competence and can critical thinking at high levels - sr directors and executive directors and VPs will regularly focus on 1 or 2 examples rather than a collective body of evidence due to their limited experience

Large amount of senior managers that do not actually manage or do a component job, see a lot of work ‘pushed down’ becuase senior leaders can actually ‘do it’ competently 

No accountability among the workers at mid and high levels, and passing the buck by senior leaders for political reasons 

Few strong workers and the few that are good leave due to frustration with leadership 

Poor to non existent career development 

Ineffective leaders across the board in r&amp;d, pipeline development, project management, commercial development, and marketing research

A typical day included creating purchase orders, setting up contracts for vendors, tracking invoices, shipping marketing materials to field sales representatives, generating time-sensitive payments, coordinating marketing review committee meetings and filing documents in the proper locations.

 I learned to work with a newly introduced purchase order generating software and a new legal contract generating system. Also I learned how to determine which projects required purchase orders and contracts. 

My management team was very accommodating and made sure I had the tools and approvals required to complete my projects. My managers complimented me regularly and told me how much I was appreciated. 

The hardest part of the job was the heavy workload and short timelines for completing projects.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the team-oriented people.

Jazz has been a good company overall with great benefits and great people. A typical day at work is always busy but productive.I learned a lot involving time management and effective routing due to having one of the largest territories in our region.I learned how to manage my time during the day more efficiently.The workplace culture was really good over the first eight years of my tenure but as more people were hired from outside our company you could see the culture changing somewhat but still able to maintain most of the culture that attracted employees to Jazz. I worked with some of the best employees at Jazz that I have ever worked with and will continue to consider them friends and coworkers.I was fortunate to sell several great products during my time at Jazz. The most enjoyable part of the job was the comraderie with the other Jazz reps that I worked with.

I was one of the few non-IT folks at Taos but often got to work directly with talented Consultants from all over the country. I enjoyed meeting a very diverse group of people over the couple of years I worked there. I found the environment to be very supportive of different lifestyles as well, recruiters worked to prepare new candidates for the client sites to the best of their ability. Taos was a fun place to work and I enjoyed the regular employees in recruiting, sales, HR, and helpdesk. Taos has a managed-services division and use their own amazing people for helpdesk. It's Class-A support: fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend it to my new employers. ;-) I knew quite a few consultants who grew from new to seasoned-and-sought-after IT professional in just a few years because they were at Taos

What is the best part of working at the company?
Mixed messages in terms of importance for various products. Seem to be a disconnect from field to middle-management to upper management.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Who was in charge? It was never easy to understand who actually was running your division

Good environment, fair equitable, and good people to work with

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Customer calls team calls, speaking with your teammates solving problems. It was an enjoyable job.

Jazz is a growing biotech that is positioning itself as a key player in the rare disease space.  The organization employs a flexible work arrangement that allows employees to work anywhere between 1-5 days remotely.  It's a great place to work and boasts a very collaborative work environment.  Key to any employees success is learning to navigate the office politics among mid-level leadership.  However, the top-level executives have done much to deter its prevalence.

Jazz has a lot of "unwritten rules" which consists of many gray areas without support.
Jazz is unclear about call reporting; varies from manager to manager.
Jazz downsized excellent managers and kept managers with questionable ethics.
Ever since Big Pharma entered the arena, a solid sense of cohesiveness has diminished.
Merit increases are mainly in RSUs.
PTO is not allotted.  Though Jazz touts "uncapped" PTO, you must request PTO, managers either approve or deny. If it is approved, they can retract the approval. 

Be prepared for a serious mix of unconnected interviews, disjointed schedules, and clueless HR people that treat you like a first-grader just entering Elementary School. They're not interested in what you can do, just who you know inside of the company already.

The mission is good, company is fine, benefits are nice.

They will quietly let good people go if there is any mixed performance. People are constantly living under the questions of - why was that person let go, and will they do this to me? There seems to be little effort to train/coach if it is easier to simply replace.

They wanted to create a place that is not just for a paycheck, but ultimately it is just a paycheck
