Knowledge Services does a decent job of keeping in contact with their employees and making themselves available for questions. Your primary contact with them is for questions/problems with pay or PTO. Once in the EA position, expect little to no training by management at the FSSA. Expect to be able to handle oftentimes emotional people (clients and coworkers alike) in a fast paced environment. Expect a lot of turnover and make friends with more seasoned co-workers so they can help you do your job, because there is absolutely no formal training.  You learn as you go, so you have to be independent. The pay is not enough for what you're expected to learn and do and deal with- hence the high turnover in this position. Not good benefits either, the health insurance offered is sub par. Also, the state employess get paid days off and you do not. So not only are you under paid but lack hours. What makes it worth it are the clients who are truly appreciative when you help them through something they don't fully understand, but ironically, taking 'time' with clients is not encouraged, which oftentimes causes them a lapse in benefits and returning several times to rectify their cases or reapply, which is also not productive.

You do not get paid enough for the amount of work you are expected to do. If you want to work for the DFR work for them through the State; the pay and benefits are a lot better. The employees and managers on site will gossip about each other; which makes for a very uncomfortable situation.
If you make a mistake because of lack of training and help the state employees will belittle you in front of everyone. Mistakes happen. When I made a mistake the site manager would belittle me in front of other clients and staff which made me feel very unappreciated in the office. 
I was told to contact people in other offices for help; which I did when I could get ahold of them. It was difficult trying to contact people to ask questions when they also had a job to do. I constantly felt like I was bothering them. 
The two weeks of training you get as an Eligibility Assistant are not very helpful; they try to cram too much information into a short amount of time. You are only allowed to miss eight hours of training in order to pass the course but if you miss more they will push you through even though you are not ready. I got pushed through when I was out due to an illness and it ultimately set me up to fail. 
This could be a great place to work if they treated people better and if the employee contact actually listened to employees and not just the site manager. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part was quitting this dead end job.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There was no training.  Another Knowledge Services staff member was asked to train me.  This person openly stated that they did not want to train and admitted that she didn't know how to train others.  She wasn't kidding and seldom showed up to work during my first three weeks of training with her.  Also, Knowledge Services kept changing the representative that I was to report to.  I wasn't sure who to take my concerns to.  By the time Knowledge Services finally showed up at the office I was placed at, I had already given up on the job/training and decided to quit.  It was a complete waste of my time.  Figuring out who was in control of payroll, benefits, training, etc, was very confusing as they have different companies handling those various aspects.  My advice is to look for a better job.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I'm not completely sure about knowledge services.  I was placed at a local government office.  It was not a positive experience.  Everyone seemed extremely overwhelmed.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Bored.  If there wasn't a client, then there was nothing else to do but stare at government training modules that did not address/explain the job.  My coworker would either not show up or not train me when she would show up.

8 weeks of training absolutely no room for taking a day off. Expected to be there in time everyday. Work floor is divided into groups and if you excel at your work expect for your teammates to call in false allegations to get you fired. If they have been there longer then you expect to be fired without any possibility of defending yourself against accusations. Knowledge services management is not onsite so they rely on staff to inform them of everything. The culture at DFR is toxic I do not recommend working for knowledge services at all. DFR state hired employees work with what they got the management there is great. But contracting out work to knowledge services is a joke. It doesn’t matter if you are great at your job pass all your tests throughout training if someone does not like you and one phone call your out. Your best bet is not keep to yourself do not attempt to make friends keep your head down do your work and clock out. They encourage a team atmosphere with the state employees but being a contract worker it is impossible the divide is beyond impossible to not notice. 

The insurance benefits KS offers is not minimal essential coverage. You will have to find that elsewhere, but they won't tell you that in onboarding. They will talk it up along with PTO they offer. You have one lump of VERY SLOW accruing PTO to use for everything - sick days, vacation, appointments, etc. They will tell you in onboarding that it isn't all lumped into one and is broken up into separate pools, but it's not. They also do not pay liveable wages. They refuse to show you a policy. It's constantly shoved down your throat, but when you ask to see the actual hard copy of the policy, they push back. Hm. Weird. You will be held to state employee standards, but are not a state employee nor are you supposed to be following their policy. They will also preach about how big of an opportunity there is to advance within the company. If you don't mind waiting for years. You need to do yourself a favor and decline the offer and move on to a company that actually values their employees. Because KS is not one of those companies. Actually, here's a direct quote from a higher up when faced with opposition on how they treat their employees: "They knew what they were getting into when they were hired on."

If you can recall all of the low IQ types of girls you ever felt self-conscious or annoyed around back in high school, then this should give you an idea of the type of office women running Knowledge Services. The “women-ran” front this company is referring to is the most two-faced, lazy types of females who just are there to turn over some contracted coinage by way of the hard work and dedication you agree to commit to. You go to your little low paying, contracted State job and they get to sit in their multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art office and judge you at their discretion if you bother them with your work-related concerns. This is not a good job placement agency. I would not recommend Knowledge Services to anyone at all.

The pay is great for the job that I do, a remote call center agent. The management are truly caring and supportive. They provide an extremely positive work environment and strongly promote mental and emotional well being. Requesting time off for appointments or personal reasons is simple and uncomplicated. I can honestly say that this is the best company I've ever worked for. 
The negatives are that there are no paid holidays, sick days, or vacation days, and it's a temporary position. I am working on a temporary contract, that's the only thing I'd change about this company. I'd love to work with them on a permanent basis, and I will definitely apply again when my contract expires. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. 

the first two months I worked there, I had no official training. I was thrown immediately on the floor due to an extremely high turn over rate. My first day I had other employees tell me how terrible it was and they hadn't been there more than a few months. 
There were a few highly inappropriate  situations, that KS  handle in a extremely  poor manner, if at all. I saw many coworkers get pushed out of their jobs, due to the management not being able to deescalate  a situation. They really don't care about you as a person, only about money they're making off of you. They will lie, and screw you over. 


What's really sad about this,is that most people, myself included,  really enjoyed the job itself. I know a few great, kind people who were wonderful at their jobs who can no longer work there due to KS snake like ways.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The hours were the best part because it was convenient for my family. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The DFR office manager snorted coke in her office, and she was all over the place. They also favored the State workers and were very ungrateful. If they continue, they will never be able to retain good employees if this trend persists.

The work environment was very stressful. The day I was fired, I asked to go home because they had my blood pressure was high.

My typical day was very stressful, and my morale was low. It was like walking on eggshells. I always felt unappreciated.

Do not work for the DFR through knowledge services. Insurance is a joke, pay is not enough for the amount of tasks/interviews you're expected to complete. PTO is pretty much nonexistent at the rate you must accrue it. Training is awful and out of control at times. The class would be bombarded and taken over by the other training employees (adults) a lot of yelling and disrespect without much control from the trainer. My manager maybe said 20 sentences to me in the 7 months I was employed there. Knowledge services and state employees do not communicate well with staff. No room for advancement as state employees have it made and are not going anywhere anytime soon.
