The pay was OK for part-time work. No benefits, no paid time off if full time. No one communicated to me that pay is every two weeks.

Seemed like a relaxed work environment and management wouldn't be micromanaging me. 

The bad part about my very short employment with them is this: Absolutely zero maintenance planning. No tools, had to bring in my own. Zero maintenance planning or program. Seems like everything is just being done ad-hoc there. No central maintenance shop for supplies, tools, or anything else needed for maintenance. Employees using personal vehicles for picking up supplies. On my first day there I was told by just about everyone that the place is basically held together by duct tape and glue and that patching things up was the norm. 
I told them their roof needed to be replaced otherwise any repairs I made to the drywall would just be ruined again the next time it rained. I was told to just patch it up and keep patching it up every time water intrusion ruined the drywall. I did a shoddy drywall patch job due to the above and I was not OK with it. I am not OK with slapping Band-Aids or doing shoddy workmanship. It reflects poorly on me and I take pride in doing work to the best of my ability. 
I refuse to do shoddy patch jobs or work for any place that does not take maintenance seriously, has no maintenance program, and is not properly equipped. I have standards and must stick to them. So I had a job for one day and quit the next day.

When I told them the job wasn't a good fit for me, they didn't ask why, just said "OK, thanks for letting us know" WTF? If I were management, I  would have asked what the problem was so I could get the person leaving to stay or so that I could make changes so that the next guy didn't leave soon. Almost everyone I talked to there told me that patch jobs were the norm. 

What a shame, it could have been a great place to work and I could have made a huge impact on the quality of the maintenance being performed there which would have led to better customer experiences.

One month ago I gave my two week notice. I was told to leave. Coincidentally, the same day the company started asking employees to fill out a survey regarding employee satisfaction. I posted the following statement on the companies app. HR immediately took it down and blocked me from the app. Instead of reaching out to get to the cause of my frustration and to see how they can avoid this in the future, they chose to sweep it under the rug. Real professional. "This is ironic, considering I gave my two week notice today from the most illegitimate company I have ever worked for. I was immediately berated for giving up on a "good company", although my hours were cut from 40 a week to 16 a week, all while making barely enough money for a college kid to survive on, let alone an adult with responsibilities. Paid holidays? Nah. Sick days? Nope. Personal time off? Nope. Vacation? Maybe in a year. Affordable health insurance? Haha don't even ask about that. A living wage for hardworking people trying to support a family? Don't even think about it. Then I was told that I should just make Friday my last day. Wow. Thanks for appreciating everything I've done, congratulating me on my new and obviously better opportunity, and wishing me the best of luck. This plus all of the life safety and fire safety concerns on the property, let alone the absent owners who are boasted about daily on this propaganda app but will never attempt to meet you face to face, shake your hand or learn your name. With all of the shady and illegal business practices within this company, I am glad to be on my way out before I or anyone else gets severy hurt or killed at this place. Good riddance. Btw, human resources is a joke. Good luck getting an answer to a simple question without leaving endless voicemails, finally contacting a rude, useless representative (you know her name) and getting nowhere with your issue."

I would not recommend working at this company based on my experiences. The organization faces significant challenges in leadership and operations. Communication is inconsistent, and the work environment constantly feels disorganized and high-pressure due to a lack of clear structure and support ownership and upper management.

Leadership practices and professionalism need improvement. Employees often feel undervalued and overworked, I have seen co-workers physically in tears after remarks from upper management and ownership -  high turnover is common in most departments. Workplace culture would benefit from greater inclusivity and a more supportive approach to management.

Operationally, there are areas for improvement in event planning and service delivery, everything is constantly last minute, as well as addressing concerns about safety of the structures and spaces as well as questionable food quality. These issues detract from the overall experience for both employees and clients.

Many employees I worked with expressed frustration with the workplace dynamics and have since moved on to other opportunities - and some have even left the hospitality industry all together.

Advice to Management: Invest in leadership training, improve workplace culture, and prioritize employee support and retention. Consider reviewing operational practices to align with the values of hospitality and customer satisfaction.

Management is only out for themselves. Owners of the company are great however they don’t know what goes on at the actual locations. The people running their locations make it a free for all and give all of the work they don’t want to do to the people who don’t even get paid for it. They are also mean and rip opportunities away from you out of jealousy. It’s all competition instead of growing together. Apparently I got fired for getting paid too much when I even offered to have them pay me the regular pay rate for the positions they asked me to work. There were days I’d work for free. I was even asked to go in and work FOR FREE and bring my child with me if I didn’t have childcare because it would always be last minute and unorganized and they were that desperate. You get pay taken out of your checks for breaks that don’t even happen. I dedicated so much time and hardwork to this company just to get fired without any explanation when it was really because the new manager wanted their own people to work there even though I was working there before them. This company messes with your head. I was told for over a year that they had “huge plans” for me but it never happened. I was just used. For “grown adult” managers to take away so much from young adults who fight to build a career without any explanation is just disturbing to me. And the owners never even knew about it.

Terrible company, terrible environment, awful operations, high employee turnover. Look how many executive chefs they burn through. Look how many managers they burn through. That should give you some insight as to the revolving door the few real staff members they acquire experience. The chief operating officer doesn’t have a clue as to how to run an organization. They run everything from the seat of their pants and when there is a problem, they just put a Band-Aid on it or ignore it completely. For the amount of capital they invest in their properties, it’s like putting lipstick on a pig. The bulk of their FOH staff id derived not by hiring and training in-house workers, rather they hire from staffing agencies. This is no way to develop a strong staff which transcends to service standards, having  a consistent product and a healthy and inviting environment for all. The BOH exhibited shabby unprofessionalism. The “C” family needs to higher competent managers and delegate authority to make their organization stronger and invest in a competent HR team to execute effective and efficiently.

This is a rapidly growing company that actually cares about its employees. Being based out of a hub like Jersey city is awesome because you get the quick paced attitude and sophistication without the dread of the city! Within a year, I've been able to rise considerably in the company both in responsibility and pay. There's always something to do, so boredom isn't even a concern! Management is well versed and knowledgeable. They're always willing to teach and cross train and don't give a second thought to hopping right beside you to work something out or explain things to you. You really feel taken care of here. There's a great family-style aspect to the company and it feels amazing to be appreciated while excelling in such a lively field. It's a great place to start your career.

Long hours – fast paced with little to no training at all.  Servers are over worked and paid very little with no tips – over heard a sales person say to a client booking a wedding and I quote “No need to tip the servers – they are very well paid” – REALLY???…Also found out that 30 minutes gets taken out of your paycheck when you work over 6 hours, so if you work 12 hours which you do at most weddings you only get paid for 11 which is unfair because you are never given any breaks or time to relax like they say....You are expected to do several positions even though they only pay you for being a server.  Managers are nice but take advantage of you if you let them!! No benefits at all working for this company!! Worked there 3 weeks - Very happy I moved on!!

I have worked for landmark for a couple months now and I am approaching my 90 days as an event Concierge at the corporate office. I absolutely love working here. I was super nervous at first because I’ve never answered high call volumes at first, but it’s pretty easy once you get a hang of it. The manager for the events Concierge team, along with my colleagues, have done a wonderful job of training me and showing me the ropes. The hours are super easy to balance with regular day life. The whole team is super easy to get along with and they will soon become life long friends ! I highly recommend applying to this company, for whatever it is your are interested in ! I intend to stay here for a while !

Long hours with no breaks - no health benefits - no holiday pay - no sick time - I could go on....Landmark promises you the world and gives you nothing. No job training, management people are horrible - they expect you to work your butt of for $12 - 13.00 an hour. You MAKE NO TIPS AT HOTEL du VILLAGE. If you work 6 hours you get paid for 5 1/2 because they say you get a food break so if you work 12 hours you only get paid for 11.  The stairs kill you because the kitchen is in the basement but everything else is upstairs. Landmark has got to be the worst company I ever worked for!! So happy I left after a month of running my butt off for nothing.

They don't think they run like a mom & pop, but they do. Often decisions are made not on analysis or logic but on the gut feelings of the owners. Extremely disorganized and have a handful of people doing the jobs of dozens. Pay is not very competitive. 

That being said, it's a relaxed environment, flexible hours and dress code and people are generally friendly. And most people (in the office) can go home at 4 or 5 and leave the workday behind them. I can't speak for venue or restaurant staff.
