I started working for Mercury Electronics in April of 2017 as a receptionist doing Order Entry work.  I came from the kitchen, and only had 1 part time receptionist job before working at Mercury, so i didn't have a lot of office experience.  In OE, you rotate through different positions, which I liked, because then you weren't doing the same thing everyday. You learn a bunch of different skills, which makes you more valuable to the company. This is also a benefit, because more then one person knows how to do your job, so if you requested off, its not a big deal because someone else can cover you. After like 4-5 months I was interested in the Shipping Coordinator position, and my boss did everything they could to 'groom' me for the position, so i would be prepared. They started to increase my responsibilities; instead of just throwing me into the position, i felt prepared and ready to take on everything, with confidence. i have worked for some pretty awful companies, and i truly feel Mercury Electronics is one of the better ones. I read some of the other reviews, and i have to disagree-  honestly, i have never noticed the "drama" some of these reviews claim, but maybe that's because I'm just too busy working....lol I think if you work hard, management will see it. i am a great example of that. The owner is extremely nice. ( a little intimidating, but nice nonetheless.) Both my boss, my old manager (still here, since i moved up, i have new managers.) are extremely understanding, and it is easy to communicate with them. If i have an issue i bring forward to them, and i know it will be looked into, and addressed.  I like how we have Health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, PTO, HSA, 401K, & holiday pay.  I like that we have a Christmas or Holiday party, and an annual summer cookout. It is completely unnecessary, but i absolutely LOVE that Mercury values their employees enough to reward the employees with parties and food.  i like that we are allowed to take breaks, there is 9am break and a 2pm break, these breaks aren't mandatory, but i like there is a scheduled time for me, other than lunch, for me to clear my head.
I DO recommend working at Mercury Electronics 
-if you want to work in more of a family-type environment, with friendly co-workers and management who care about your well-being and success. 
-if you want to move up, start a career 
-if you want to enjoy going to work 

However, if you just want to collect a paycheck, but not actually do a lot of work, Mercury is NOT the place for you.

I spent a little over a year here. This is a good place to be at if you're looking for experience for another job or if you need something to get you by. 
The company is not inclusive or progressive. 
Managers seem to be chosen due to whoever is not smart enough to question the business practices.
Politically-charged place. We were casually told if a democrat gets elected we wouldn't be able to get much business anymore. But as far as I am aware from what I hear from the few friends I made here there have been no layoffs and no pay cuts and business is going fine.
Some employees are allowed to severely verbally abuse everyone simply because they are good at their jobs, which is a pretty messed up perk to give out. 
The pay is low for the amount of responsibility involved, and the health insurance cost is through the roof. You can work at Rutters doing basically nothing and get paid the same. 
I once heard someone I complained about talking about me and an exact sentence I used when I filed a formal complaint. But again this is cause of the clique environment. 
I never had a problem getting off when I asked for off. That was a plus. The job seemed secure. Absolutely zero chance for advancement. 

Most of the production jobs at this location are sitting positions that involve use of hand tools and basic reading abilities. If you have trouble understanding a blueprint to a job, someone will hold your hand through the process.

The facility itself is not exactly climate controlled. You'll stay warm enough in the winter as long as you're not working around the loading dock. Do not rely on air conditioning for the summertime, however.

From my experience, most of the production workers are decent people, easy to work with. There are some who cause trouble, but they're easy to identify and avoid. Just be weary of the quality department, most of the catty people are drawn to those roles, mainly because the work is easier and the pay is slightly higher.

In short, the work was fairly laid back when it was available or not short sheeted, or waiting on parts. The pay scale definitely leaves something to be desired. There were 10 year veterans hardly breaking $19/hr, and new hires coming on at $13/hour.

This job is not worth the stress or stupidity from other employees or the higher ups. Most team leads either have way to many favorites or refuse conflict so nothing gets done. The people who train you have no idea what they are doing and it’s impossible to meet there quota in the required “probation period” there was also a time I was learning from two different people who had very different teaching methods and I ended up messing up from the controdicting methods. HR is buddies with some of the team leaders so good luck going to them about anything without it getting back to them even though it’s supposedly confidential.. There are a bunch of petty, shady, drama oriented people in this plant who try to get you fired and because they have been there for a long period people will believe them over you with no FACTUAL EVIDENCE! Glad to be gone! Also the pay sucks, you have no way of working up the ladder if you are not a favorite so there really is no point. The owner of the company seems really nice but he is completely oblivious to the drama and distructive mannor his factory is being run in....

This is not your everyday workplace where you go to work, do your job, and go home. Oh no. This is a place where there is drama, unqualified employees training new employees, and the same rules do not apply to everyone. The inspectors do not all inspect the same. One passes something while the other rejects it. They are not nice about it at all. There are some really nice inspectors and there are some that think they are better then everyone else. They change the rules in their handbook constantly. And even when they do they never follow it. This is a place where new employee benefits and pay are better then those that have been there for several years. They are always hiring if that doesn't tell you something. This place use to be a fun, managed, no stress involved kinda place to work. Now I know for a fact there are those that can't get through a day without coming home crying to there families. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they are desperate for a job.

There is a lot of drama, favoritism and the pay is bad. They want you to learn a years worth of work in 90 days, then when you get your review, you get told you are slow and ask too many questions. I have never worked at a place this bad before. Some people can do nothing but stand around and talk all day, while others are reprimanded for doing the same thing. Some people miss a day a week and others rarely miss time but get 3 days off without pay. It's unbelievable. There is no where to go career wise. 
A typical day would consist of hearing lots of gossip, seeing who is going to miss a day and management not paying much attention to anything. 
Unless you are totally desperate and can deal with making about a dollar more than working at the convenience store stay away. 
The benefits aren't too bad but a little pricey.  
Since I have been there the owner has never said a word to me. He walks the floor a lot but has  never spoke to me.
If you miss a day and have PTO time they take your PTO time a give you a point too.

The worst management and work environment I have ever worked in. Let's start out with the fact that they expect you to learn a year's worth of work of work in 3 months. They provided poor training manuals that were corrected by management constantly after you followed them. Also, everyone is related, cult-like environment. If you aren't rough around the edges and are a professional you will NOT FIT IN! HR broke so many privacy issues every day! They will call you in over tiny mistakes that others have made if they decide you don't fit in, thinking you will quit and they don't have to pay unemployment. But, this isn't true you can! Oh, and the owner, eek! He won't even speak to you if you work in his factory! It was disgusting to see that at his company picnic. When I worked there the turn over happend every week, not kidding! These people are evil!

Over the past few years, there have been noticeable changes within the company. Unfortunately, these changes have led to a sense of favoritism and a decline in trust between employees, supervisors, and management. Performance and attendance expectations don’t always seem applied consistently, which affects morale and teamwork.
Many current employees have expressed dissatisfaction with the current culture, citing growing frustration and a lack of communication. It would benefit the company if leadership took a more proactive approach to listening to employee concerns and responding constructively. Improving transparency and consistency could go a long way toward rebuilding trust and strengthening the workplace environment.

Since the old floor manager left the new managers are never around to assist you if you need help with your job or busy socializing with their friends. If you do interrupt them having a conversation because you have a problem or question about your work they either ignore you until they finish their conversation or just look at you like you’re doing something wrong for interrupting them. They are rude with their responses and one even told me they don’t have to help me with my work because they don’t have to anymore and I’m their tools now. Do the new owners actually know what goes on in their company or know what type of people they’re putting in place to lead us. If this is who is supposed to be who we look to for guidance then you’re failing your employees. 

If you enjoy drama filled, high school like environments, an HR dept that gossips about your issues and home life to anyone who will listen, inexperienced managers that lie and manipulate, being tattled on by your co-workers and drug into the office constantly, then this is the place for you!!
Benefits are the most expensive of any place around, the pay is sub-par, the people are vicious and back stabbing, and the stress level is outrageous.  
Just don't do it.
