Here i worked in 3 shifts, because i wanted to learn more and more, so my duties was:
Server
A server's responsibilities depend greatly on the business; however, in all cases his or
her primary duty is to provide good customer service, take orders, and deliver food. In
most situations, servers are expected to answer questions regarding the menu. They
work closely with other wait staff and the kitchen to ensure the restaurant is operated
efficiently.
In upscale restaurants, servers are more a part of the dining experience, offering
suggestions and recommendations, such as wine pairings. They help to personalize the
meal and their service is more attentive and formal.
In restaurants with revolving menus, servers may need to meet with kitchen staff or
managers daily prior to service to discuss that day's offerings. Topics in these meetings
may include specials, food preparation, and ingredients used, especially if they may be a
potential allergen to some diners. Additional duties of a restaurant server may also
include:
Processing payment
Greeting customers
Cleaning tables and dining area
Setting tables
Spa Attendant
The Spa Attendant has overall responsibility for monitoring and cleaning the spa to
include but
not limited to, reception area, waiting areas, treatment rooms, storage rooms and prep
area.
Incumbent must utilize available resources to provide excellent guest satisfaction. 
The Spa Attendant will meet or exceed productivity and cleanliness standards, taking corrective
action
as needed to ensure standards are maintained. Work hours/days vary as dictated by
business
needs, and may include weekends and holidays.
Front Desk/Reception
Greet guests and patrons as they arrive
• Ask if guests have a prior booking
• Manage the registration process
• Ask for identification and ensure that the provided credentials are accurate
• Handle guest check-ins and check-outs appropriately
• Operate hotel switchboard, take calls and provide information and transfer calls
• Manage accurate accounting of all rooms
• Provide guests with room keys and call for bellboys
• Take reservations over the telephone, through emails and in person
• Answer queries regarding the hotel’s services, charges, dining facilities, sports
facilities and travel directions
• Refer guests to appropriate departments to resolve complaints or provide suggestions
• Compute bills and take payments
• Provide guests with directions around the hotel
• Contact housekeeping and maintenance departments when a problem is reported
• Explain appropriate use of keys and ensure that guests are satisfied with the rooms
allotted to them
• Balance cash at the end of the shift and generate accounting reports for the benefit of
the next shift.

I work at the front desk at the Sagamore Pendry, I mainly interact with guests for check in, during their stay, and for check out. The best aspect of the Pendry are the people. I've worked there for two years now and everyone is pretty nice, and are dedicated hard working folks. My managers work tirelessly to maintain the high standards of the hotel and lead by example. They genuinely care about the associates they work with, encouraging feedback and most importantly responding to that feedback with actions, which means a lot.

The hardest part of the job for me can be the fast pace environment that really demands great multitasking, and the ability to stay calm and collected under pressure. It can get really busy, and time management becomes a very important skill. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is the problem solving and guest recovery. It’s really nice to be able to help a guest who comes to you a problem or a request, and being able to come up with a solution. This aspect of the job really keeps you on your toes, because guests have a certain expectation of the hotel and when they make a request we have to be able to make it happen. This doesn’t just apply to the front desk, all departments really get involved to provide the best experience.

The cons for me really comes down to the scheduling, it varies from one week to the next. You can certainly communicate preferences for when you would like to work, but the managers can really only do so much. If the schedule could be more fixed that would be nice.

Working in a hotel, most people understand what comes with the job: long hours, weekends, holidays, and angry guests. There's a lot of pros, but the cons outweighed them for me just because I have been in the business for a while. Here for a few years, but at other resorts for much longer. The turnover rate is what you'd expect, along with the drama. Most days I didn't feel supported with the amount of work I was expected to do, on top of dealing with guests who only got ruder each month that went by. Sadly with this being such a social media spot, it brought in a lot of people who wanted to be treated like royalty. And yes, everyone should be treated as such. But if someone had a blue checkmark (no matter how unbelievably disrespectful they were) we were expected to drop everything and push them ahead of guests with less money. It's the hospitality mentality but just seemed unfair. Management was supportive when they were able to be, but they also seemed constantly swamped with work. It felt like everyone was too stressed and too busy. It really does age you. 

Coming to work at Montage Laguna Beach, you have to sometimes stop take a look at yur surroundings and realize how truly lucky you are to be able to work in such a beautiful environment. The views are amazing the weather is perfect most of the times. As an Admin. Assistant my daily job requirements are to assist the Director of Rooms and all Rooms Division managers. I assist with all the orders and supplies for the division, respond to emails and draft letters to guests. I work very closely with the Front Office and Reservations if they need coverage. I create and update spreadsheets for our weekly property walks and Staff and Operations meetings. I provide the meeting minutes for our weekly Rooms meeting for our staff. Best part of my job is they are many opportunities to learn, not much room for advancement. Our benefits are great and I feel like I have job security. I am constantly learning something new and our values and standards are a big part of who I am today and how I represent our company. I am always willing to seek new adventures as long as I have an opportunity to grow and to be able to use my skills that I have be taught ove rthese many years.

I was an intern at Montage Palmetto Bluff. I was picked on by my boss and his colleagues. The people in the kitchen were also very rude and spoke ill of everybody once they weren’t around. I was appalled from my superior making sneer judgments about my character. As this person criticized me as a person on a day to day basis when my boss was not around. The work environment was negative, as the attitude was always a feeling of nobody wanting to be there. I ended up begging to leave my internship early. Along with that, my department was extremely unclean. There was a cockroach infestation in the kitchen and nobody did anything about it, even though they were aware. I am forever traumatized of my experience of how I was treated on a day to day basis. Not to mention, on the last day of work I had gone to HR about the bullying and harassment, they told me I was being sensitive. I am the reason that The Culinary Institute of America in California does not support this resort as a good learning and working environment. Montage Palmetto Bluff truly does not care about their interns, and even employees. If they did, the interns that worked and currently work there wouldn’t be extremely unhappy. I speak for many other interns at montage palmetto bluff.

A typical day at work is when you encounter with more rude and mean guests and for that one may need to maintain their patience and manners.
Montage is a Forbes Five star hotel,  the way we are trained to interact with guests is a 10/10 confidence booster.
The management is so understanding and they never take action against you without warning you first or calling you aside to address your issue and consequences.
For me the stuff was amazing, not a single day that you would get to work and find someone not in a good to be talking to other stuff, it was an everyday thing to always be addressed about the changes and going stuff, just to keep us updated.
The hardest part is that when you start you are told the rules and standards and that you are expected to maintain those, so you will have a hard time thinking if you can work according to the standard
At Montage there is no racism and discrimination, we all are a team hence we work together, that what makes your job more comfortable and enjoyable.

They pay well - I made $23 per hour as a Front Office Agent. The benefits are also good. My coworkers were chill, and two of my managers were good to work with. However, the people above front office management expect far too much from their managers. My managers routinely worked 12 or more hour shifts with no overtime because they were on salary. The entire place is disorganized. Uniforms were promised when I was hired, and six months later, we still didn't have them. The schedule is also all over the place, and they don't take into account how far people live from the hotel when they make them. There were weeks when all of my shifts were 3pm-11pm despite requesting earlier ones since I lived over an hour away. Also, the upper management doesn't trust their managers or front office to do their jobs. There were a number of times when us in the front office would get things settled so we weren't overselling our rooms, and then we'd find out that actually our general manager went into the system, assigned rooms, and effectively undid the balancing the front office had done. Basically, unless you're really hard up for cash, don't do it to yourself. Trust me, the money doesn't end up being worth it in the end.

The worst part is the fact that they want you to Stop.  Stand.  Smile. Give a Salutation to every single guest.  You’re busy with housekeeping and they want you to give every single guest this line, “Good Morning Mrs Ford.” It’s not authentic.  They want you to give five star service but they pay you at one star service.  The pay is so low it’s not ok.  Most of the staff is from another country on a J-one visa.  The staff has very little choice because they’re here on a program called Work and Travel.  The hotel, itself, is huge and POORLY designed.  The elevators are in strange places.  The stores carry overpriced, undesirable goods.  The staff is expected to give guests “Mores” service without actually providing them with the resources to do so.  It’s really an awful
Company to work for.  They don’t retain staff at all. The location is weird and far from town.  Many associated have to take the city bus which takes a long time.  Parking on site is a joke.  

Working as a host at Montage Healdsburg has been a dynamic and engaging experience. A typical day involves greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth operations at the front of the house. I’ve learned the importance of maintaining poise under pressure and the art of multitasking, all while providing top-tier customer service.

The management team here is supportive and fosters a culture of excellence and hospitality. They are always available to provide guidance and encourage personal growth. My honest opinion, there’s no better management than here. 

The hardest part of the job can be the fast pace during peak hours, which requires quick thinking and efficient problem-solving. However, this is also what makes the job exciting. The most enjoyable part is meeting people from all walks of life and having the opportunity to contribute to their positive dining experience.


Montage is a beautiful place to work. There are many added benefits to employees like free lunch, great health benefits and even benefits like hair services or wholesale bedding, discounts to travel to other properties etc. It is a very demanding work environment because of the clientele. Standards are very high, and employees really put in their heart and soul everyday, but it is not appreciated or rewarded always. they offer excellent training and leadership training. I have met some of the greatest people within the organization and guests.
