Munich Re America is a progressive corporation influenced by its parent company Munich Re located in Munich, Germany. Because of the European head quarters, I believe that the US based affiliate benefits from a 'progressive thinking' for work/life balance towards it's employees and contractors. 

Everyday at work, work loads were manageable, stress-free and flexible.

I learned plenty with regards to actual video/audio capture. Having a background in the art direction of this skill permitted me the opportunity to expand my knowledge. Also post-production skills benefited with the adoption of learning Final Cut Pro X. Having Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects knowledge made the learning curve shallow wth FCPX.

My co-workers were mature, humorous and well educated, making our time together most pleasant.

The hardest aspect of the job was learning all the technical nuances which I was informed would take 4-6 months to absorb. After 3 months I was well on my way.

The most enjoyable part of the job was for me, post production video and audio editing and composition.

A typical work day always varies with something different daily. You need to be proactive and disciplined with your emails and make sure you know how to balance your work load, otherwise you will become overwhelmed.
Always prioritize and make certain you answer emails timely.
I have learned to always be concise and straight to the point in presentations, and my work.  Make sure your work is correct, do not assume anything. Do not over promise and under deliver, and make sure project timelines can be met.  Push back when necessary.
The culture is friendly and approachable, and if I was to state the hardest part of my job, it would be the complexity of the process
and juggling the work load. Simplify would be the answer..
Enjoyable; is meeting all deadlines with success, and making the end users and clients happy, in other words doing a good job!

Great company to work for.  Based in home office with cafeteria, gym, events

No advancement opportunities.  Supervisor and manager had worked their years and had all perks sewn up between themselves

Because you were employees of the company the majority of employees treated you as equal including the long time CEO, who would always say hello if you passed in the building, even though he probably had no clue who you were.  A friend who was an employee of an onsite vendor didn't realize he was the CEO because he just seemed like another member of staff.  New CEO was totally different and would not acknowledge you

I've really enjoyed working for this company! The people are great and nearly everyone is friendly. The cafeteria is fantastic as is the gym. The company is great with flexibility and working from home, though this may depend on your manager. There's minimal office politics. Upper management genuinely cares about its employees. Salaries are fair for the industry. This company will help and support you in training.

Culture spouted at interview differed drastically after employment.  Apparently, everything depends on the department you work in.  Some allow wfh, comp time and others don't.  Management has no coaching experience and would rather take the easiest way out rather than explore reasons why your work may be taking longer than expected.  In my case it turned out to be IT settings but I had to find that out on my own.  My boss just wrote me off as slow.  As I said, the management team should all be required to take coaching classes to help cultivate and grow the talent on board.

Innovative and challenging place to work.  Employees were given all the tools needed to complete their jobs.  The work culture and Management - were always open and willing to learn new ways to make our job more efficient and better the company.  My days were fast paced- always a full work-load.  This was the hardest part of the job- we always had a full workload which sometimes posed a challenge. Although, this was also the most enjoyable in the sense that we were not stagnant and unproductive.

I went to Munich Re from another company and was totally floored. The location is great; the people I worked with were phenomenal; it was better than where I came from. I really loved working there. The holiday party is unbelievable; the free barbecues are terrific; the company store has almost everything you could ask for; it's an amazing place to work. I was extremely unhappy when I left and I was there for 12 years.

Typical day to day work prioritized getting work done over providing any kind of quality solutions. Easy enough, but very repetitive day to day. Non-existent team culture. Allowed WFH during pandemic and Team Leads are nice, but management is constantly in a state of flux and dropping people on a whim. Benefits are continuously being stripped away as the workplace is being repurposed. Do not plan on staying for longer than a year or two, if you're just starting your career.

Munich Re America (Princeton) is truly a wonderful place to work. Everyone is friendly, genuine, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Management is very involved and wants to help/see you grow and succeed. It is busy, but work life balance is a priority here and work hours are very flexible.  Benefits and salary are good, and PTO is excellent. There are also many perks to working here onsite such as gym, cafeteria, doctor's office, dry cleaning, etc. All in all, Munich Re is awesome!

A typical day at Munich Re America as an intern included working with a mentor to complete various accounting tasks, as well communicating with clients if any issues arose.  Interns frequently attended career development and leadership seminars, as well held meetings to discuss how to raise money for the Eden Autism 5k.  The staff of Munich Re America was friendly and welcoming, and was willing to teach and help the interns learn as much as possible.
