What started off as a simple job became a nightmare of constant stress. Training consists of someone explaining the job, but when pressed on how everything works you just shrugs and, "That's just the way it is." They actively keep every department separated to make it seem like everyone is against each other. 

Most of the people currently there have been hold-overs since they were small time. Then, once they started acquiring new companies and expanded globally, they let go of 1/4 of the staff only to run into poor management of the new clientele we had. Instead of hiring more help, they brought in more middle and upper management to see what can be improved. 

I never really felt welcomed despite the numerous company outings and parties. When you have to work the 2nd or 3rd shift and constantly answer phones and emails, a bunch of people will never get a chance to know anyone or enjoy these "benefits." Also, if you work one of these shifts from home, you only get two 15 min breaks for the whole 8 - 10 hour shift. 

It also doesn't help that management is beyond juvenile. Who even thinks it's okay to play a round F/M/K with the names of coworkers and field engineers while wrapping up for the day?

When I was laid off during the pandemic, I asked to have some contact information from some of my superiors so I can use them for reference. They never got back to me. 

Overall, if you don't mind a job that is completely devoid of any excitement, want managers who are childish, and are willing to push yourself for average pay to make artificial quotas everyday until you reach your limit and can't improve, by all means, go work for them!

This job started out great. It was a call center with high e-mail and phone volume. There was a metric system in place that made sense and you went home without feeling like there was something you forgot to do. Then the CEO started aggressively acquiring competition. 

After a while, the support team became Engineering Support. We were forced to become technical or lose our ability to advance within our department, and received no pay increase for the added workload. We became owners of everything while still having to fight with other departments as if we were all in high school cliques. There's no support from other departments, and a lot of the time it felt like other call centers were against you as well. Management just shrugs whenever you tell them you're stressed and tells you "well everybody is stressed right now" and never works with you to help better your work environment. You can't even have time needed to follow up on tickets you own because of the volume that's thrown at you. At the end of the day, you go home worrying about tickets you have that are aging or are concerned that someone else is going into your ticket that will end up derailing it. This didn't help matters during the pandemic either. The work life balance which was already tettering became non existent. I felt like I had to be working all the time and if I wasn't or didn't offer to stay late (this is asked a lot) that I was letting down my coworkers and managers.

This company has certainly grown over the years but growth doesn't always result in positive results.

Management has changed, and the only management that really seems to "care" about you and your growth is your immediate supervisor. - Higher ups won't know your name or give you the time of day.

Culture has gone way down hill and it's almost toxic. New management has shrunken territory size and raised quota for sales in what is already a competitive market. 

Support team is non-existent when it comes to looking for help for your clients - it will take days for them to respond which is unacceptable when the customer's are paying a premium for the service. 

I can go on and on but it's really one of those things that you have to experience it to believe it. 

All in all, the job is consistent, there are still some good teams in place but you don't get to choose. People come and go and have lost a lot of GREAT ones as of late. There are a lot of false promises that you learn to live with but would I recommend to a friend??? Doubtful. To someone in dire need of a job or entry level sales job to start? Sure why not... If you can work here, you can work at many other sales jobs.

After being acquired by Park Place Technologies, we were told we were all making significantly under the market rate for our positions and were promised pay increases within 2-3 months. It's been 10 months since then. Any time you try to make an inquiry about it, the question is dodged or completely ignored even after being escalated. UnderStaffing problems for the entirety of this period have led to some employees working nearly 30 days in a row with 12 hours shifts which run 24/7. You are expected to work Holidays. You are expected to come in and/or attend meetings in your off hours [no matter your schedule] where they tell you how successful the company is throughout the pandemic, but use the pandemic as an excuse for withholding the promised pay raises. The 'company policy' is that returning to the office is optional through the pandemic, but management demands that we return. There is no room for a work/life balance. When you cant accommodate management's errors, you are met with thinly veiled threats. Half our staff left due to these conditions and none have been replaced. Company Morale is higher at McDonalds. 

I've worked around many high intensity inside sales forces.  This was the weirdest place I've ever worked.  Managers lack any sense of professionalism.  Most have no real management experience outside PP and are basically making it up as they go.  I was a member of what could be called Mgmt. there.  Everything is political and it's like working for a high school click.  If you're on the in crowd and selling a ton, you will be ok.  Anyone else who wasn't around when they broke ground, doesn't stand a chance.  They are growing like crazy, and the inside sales people are VERY well paid.  As someone who has seen comp plans from other organizations, theirs is unsustainable.  The ridiculous pay and young workforce leads to some huge personalities, and not in a good way.  Once a month all the employees are called into a meeting and forced to watch ludicrous bonus checks handed out.  Keep in mind that not everyone in the room is in sales, so it lowers moral among employees not on commission or bonus.  The thought of making someone from a support role watch as a young punk kid gets a 20K check is not going to make them feel better about their contribution.

Typical Day at work is cold calling 80-100 dials a day and sending emails trying to get in contact with IT professionals. 
I learned how to be persistent and how to stay positive in a job that I started to dislike as I moved forward in my time at Park Place.
Management is not the greatest. You have the rich getting richer at the top of the food chain and if you get stuck with a manager that was hired externally or has never been in your shoes before and sold at Park Place then it is hard for them to relate to your everyday job and they just stress that a high volume of measured metrics is the solution when it is not.
The hardest part about the job is cold calling IT professionals all day every day because they do not want to speak with you. You are limited in the companies you can call based on geographical location so the job does get very redundant and very boring quickly.
The most enjoyable part about the job was the office atmosphere.

Excellent benefits. The expectations of the middle management team creates an “every person for themselves” culture. There is extreme pressure to provide individual results and not much support to ensure the team or the organization succeed together. This is a common complaint amongst colleagues because most would prefer to work in a more collaborative environment. Also, managers tend to kowtow to the sales staff, even at the expense of every other support team or their own policies. It is not uncommon to have a new policy or procedure for the same process change several times in the same week or month , so no one is exactly sure what is the correct way to accomplish a task. PPT has the potential to be a wonderful company to work for but there needs to be a few changes in management style. 

The health care plan is inadequate and wages are below industry standards, making it hard to feel valued. There’s no real company culture or sense of togetherness—employees mostly keep to themselves, and morale is low. Management and HR continually demonstrate a lack of understanding of employee concerns and are often tone deaf in their responses. Managers can be unpredictable and inconsistent, with little to no oversight to hold them accountable. Time off and remote work is granted solely at a manager’s discretion, making it unreliable and highly variable from team to team. Additionally, the company engages in greenwashing, promoting sustainability in marketing but failing to implement genuine environmental practices internally and heavily investing in AI. Overall, I would not recommend working here.

I have been a part of Park Place for roughly 6 months now and really enjoy the people that I work with. While there are areas for improvement, I believe that is true in any organization. Everyone I have met has been extremely helpful and I could not ask for a better manager. The new building in Westborough is first class and now that people are coming back in from COVID, there seems to be plenty of space to socially distance, yet also collaborate. The atmosphere is business with a smile and actually much more relaxed than where I came from, which is a benefit and drawback in some ways. All-in-all, I am glad I made the decision to join the company and have the opportunity to make a difference. 

Park Place Technologies is a growing technology services company which has suffered from poor leadership - due to many of the founding executives leaving for retirement and other incentives.

It's culture has become toxic in recent years - the pursuit of the almighty dollar to appease the PE Firms who have massive investments in its success - its become very hard to succeed there.

I've met some of the greatest people during my time there - life long friendships.  Regrettably they have all moved on to other opportunities outside the industry.

The days at work -and the type of work is long and arduous.  Each year goals became more unachieveable for most of the revenue driving teams.  The select few who had been there since the beginning always received preferential treatment.
