Working for Park West has been life-changing. This company gave me the opportunity to grow into a better version of myself at work and in my personal life. I continue learning every day without being micromanaged.   or held back from expressing my ideas. The culture is motivating and productive. We are a group of hard-working people that have fun during appreciation events and extended holiday breaks. This Company & its People stand by its core values every day. The hardest part of the job is the fast pace & last-minute changes the construction industry is known for. The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing that my team supports one another with motivation and ideas.

I have learned a lot about project management through the daily tasks of my job which include purchasing landscape and irrigation material, performing plan takeoffs, writing proposals and processing change orders, writing RFI's, cost analysis, turn over documents, etc. I correspond with clients, architects, subcontractors and material vendors on a daily basis. My coworkers are great but there are so few of us, leaving very little down time The most difficult part of the job is making sure to take time for myself given the constant influx of work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Managers are arrogant. there is a bias culture. The field staff are not valued and treated as expendable commodity

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You are just a number. As mentioned earlier Field staff have a little value. There is a biased culture. Upper management is arrogant

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Driving around inspecting sites supervising crew. and dealing with client request. Putting up with unappreciative managers

When I first worked at Park west, it was an excellent company, with an amazing culture, and ownership that portrayed its value in thee employee population. Unfortunately the powers have transitioned, balanced approach has been thrown out the window, and corporate greed has ruined the culture. Turnover has skyrocketed, pay and benefits are no longer competitive, and workload and backlog have drastically declined.

answering phones, separating mail, filing, color landscaping charts for jobs, payroll. Through out my time working i learned a lot that had to do with landscaping considering i have never worked in that environment. My co-workers were wonderful to work with every day. Hardest part of the job was learning everything that had to do with landscaping, but was very enjoyable learning something new every day working there.

They appear to have strong company values but they do not follow them and treat their employees like a number. Several of us feel like any day could be our last. This feeling creates a high stress work environment.  Over the years they went corporate and that took away the great family vibe they had many years ago. Many employees that work at the main corporate office have complained about it being toxic. People are not who they appear to be. 

I worked there for 9.5 years, and I loved the people I worked with, and the people I worked for. Starting with the CEO, they care about their employees, and it shows in all the things they do, from Friday raffles where they give away free stuff, to the paid time off they give during the holidays. It's an incredible place to work and grow, as there are always new opportunities.

I park west is a great company to work for.  They have a clear mission as to our customers and customer service.  They value and support their Administrative staff ( Office Managers) and have a great internal training academy.  The only reason I’m leaving is to relocate to Georgia 


Some managers were only there because of who they knew which made it somewhat harder to move up because of how much their "word" effected the final decision. But not every yard is the same.  Other yards are completely professional and encourage you to learn more and progress in the company.  

I learned a lot while working here. Hard work, determination, patience, and respect are few of the many things I gained from this job. Although we did not get paid time off, vacation, or have any sort of benefits, it was a good experience.
