I have worked at Pioneer Physicians Network for the past 10 years and have had the opportunity to see the organization grow and evolve. Like any company, there have been challenges along the way, but over the past few years I have seen significant positive changes from senior leadership. There has been a genuine focus on creating a supportive workplace where employees feel valued while also improving the experience for our patients.

After reading some of the negative reviews on Indeed, I wanted to share my own perspective. Every person's experience is different, and I don't want anyone to think that older reviews necessarily reflect the company today. Many people only take the time to write a review after a negative experience, while those who enjoy where they work often never think to post one.

I am one of those people who genuinely enjoys coming to work. I have been given opportunities to grow professionally, work with talented and caring coworkers, and be part of a leadership team that listens and continues to make improvements. No workplace is perfect, but I have personally seen Pioneer move in a very positive direction, and I believe the company is committed to continuing that progress.

If you're considering joining Pioneer, I encourage you to look at recent experiences, ask questions during the interview process, and form your own opinion. My experience over the last decade has been a positive one, and I'm proud to be part of the team.

It’s true, working for pioneer is not for everyone. This isn’t a job for the faint of heart or even the slightly lazy lemon. It’s a career for the strong willed and self motivated. I put my heart and soul into this place and it is beyond rewarding. The work load is heavy but it’s designed to keep you busy. We’ve had a heavy handful of people from our office move up to management. They will train you in anything and everything you want to learn here. The people who work here are great but we have been here and worked together for years so it takes a little while to earn your place. If you struggle with feelings of entitlement or yearn for a mosey-posey laid back environment please apply for a job as a beach bum and not a pioneer professional because we will likely chew you up and spit you out. But if you’re tired of working in dead end jobs with lazy people, if you know that you’re not being seen for your true potential and if you always seem to be helping others and are the “go to” person everywhere you’ve worked then please please please, I beg of you - apply to pioneer. We are your people, we welcome you and we will spot you from a mile away.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Many locations, free lunches, and benefits. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor management, lack of consistency, a lot of favoritism, and little to no appreciation. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Certain people are treated differently, doctors are not personable, and even if you do things right and work hard you can be let go or treated poorly so you always feel like theres a target on your back and never secure.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Room patients, prep charts, and assist the doctor. Have maybe 30min for lunch but sometimes lunches are free. Stock and clean, make sure everything has been documented in charts and everyone is ok that you leave. Your not allowed to sit at all, you do not have a place or designated area for you or your belongings and you must stay on camera and if your smart you keep to yourself and hope for the best.

Manager plays favorites. Doctors that expect you to cater to rude patients  They think the customer is always right & that you should bow to their every move. Too much work for everyone but they never talk money in regards to raises. Doctors aren't all that great either,  just look at their ratings on Google. The doctors blame the employee as to why no one wants to come there.  They think all these appointments every couple of months are going to make them stay, but it makes them mad because they don't want to pay a copay each time. As long as the doctors can buy new cars and houses they can continue to leech off these clueles people that come in the office. Don't expect to get anywhere in this company, it's a dead end unless you smooch to the higher ups. The only good thing about this place is the coworker's. Do yourself a favor and stay away. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could.

Coming from a previous job that was unethical and toxic this company has been very promising. The separate departments take stress off the offices but are understaffed. At first we’re told to ask questions and communicate but when staff does sometimes the response is rude. It seems that administration wants to hold offices accountable and demand protocols are done the right way  however, admin  departments continue making same mistakes. Pioneer as a whole is goal oriented, patient focused and community involved. Despite some small things they have monthly meetings to try and find better solutions to issues and are always wanting to do better for their patients and employees. Which is something I have respect for. 

Pioneer has a great support staff and most of the doctors are very kind, however you’re expecting to constantly go above and beyond your job description. Rarely are there enough MAs or other support staff which make it harder to fit in patients who truly need seen. When an MA is available, my schedule is expected to go from 14 patients to 18-20 though I’m sharing the MA with another provider. When issues are brought to management they’re rarely addressed until the issue escalates to a point of no return or someone quits. Management rarely admits fault when such instances occur. To be honest, I do love Pioneer and what they stand for and I don’t feel pressure to up code and such, but I struggle to feel valued at times and get frustrated with the drama among staff.

I worked only for a short time, but I saw enough. Management in the referrals section of the company barely exists. The workplace culture among the referral coordinators is nothing short of clique-y and disruptive. Most other workers in the office are very nice. It seems as though a lot is not taken very seriously, and overtime in certain departments becomes crucial as people are unable to finish the work they are assigned not because it's too much, but because they don't have the motivation to focus on their projects. I presume with some minor rearrangement once this is fully discovered by people who actually run the company, this can be solved.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My co-workers that I met and still remain friends with was probably the only best part about working here.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
EVERYTHING!!! Management is a joke. If you are not part of the "in" crowd you were basically overlooked in everything. Employees got away with so much and the ones that wanted to make things right were put in a box of "problems" and eventually fired.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible. They constantly change the rules and hold the disciplinary point system over you - lack of better terms bullying.

12 hour days, patient and provider interaction. I learned a lot about being a TCN from other TCN’s already employed by them.? Management appeared to be caring. Culture was open, friendly. Hardest part of the job was the frequent changes in how we  were to do our job. This was the first job that I NEVER dreaded going to work. I guess the saying- it is too good to be true - is accurate for the TCN position as well as the company Pioneer Physicians Network. 

The company is an honest, caring, and family oriented company. All of the doctors are wonderful people who truly enjoy to take care of pts and meet their needs. We work hard with meeting goals and standards, but it's because we do everything in our power to truly provide a desirable atmosphere and care for our patients. The pay isn't necessarily the greatest, but to go to work with understanding doctors and patients who enjoy coming in - that means the world to me!
