I have worked at Praxis for about 3 years now and have some insight to share for potential future applicants. 
The first one being that this company has some wonderful people under its roof. Most of the Praxis Clinics are staffed with all around great teams who work really well together. I feel that everyone is one big family and we are given a lot of resources to help guide us when needed. The supervisors always try to be available for us and they all seem to believe in an "open door policy" which is wonderful.  

Secondly. I have always felt supported and encouraged to increase my knowledge and desire for job advancement.  I myself, have advanced my position a total of 3 times and have had nothing but support from those around me. I really feel that if you are giving this company all that you can, they will give that energy right back. 

The last one I wanted to share is that the benefits could be improved.. BUT, the one thing about Praxis is that they do monthly surveys to evaluate how their employees feel about things like benefits, happiness in the workplace etc. They take those results and they work to improve on all of those and will send email updates with how they improved the current and common issues/complaints. So, they are always working to better the company as a whole which is a huge win for me.

Overall, this company works hard to keep their employees happy and allow their concerns to be heard. We have great teams and see some more positive changes in the future. 

Working under Praxis Health has been a deeply rewarding experience. In my role as a specialty Clinic Administrator, I’ve had the opportunity to lead a dedicated and compassionate team, support clinical operations, and help shape the patient and staff experience in meaningful ways.

One of the biggest strengths of this organization is the collaborative culture—providers and staff genuinely care about one another and the work we do. Leadership is supportive of innovation and open communication, and there’s a strong focus on patient-centered care and team development. I’ve appreciated being able to mentor and grow emerging leaders, participate in women’s leadership initiatives, and foster a positive, team-oriented environment.

There’s also a lot of autonomy in the role, which allows for creativity and proactive problem-solving. With that freedom comes responsibility, so strong time management and adaptability are essential. The pace can be fast and the expectations high, but if you're motivated and solutions-focused, you’ll thrive here.

Working as a clinician at Praxis Health has been very disappointing.  I worked as a physician, seeing patients in clinical settings.  The EMR was difficult to use and support of the EMR, internet, and phone systems was all done remotely, leading to significant patient care issues when systems constantly went down for poorly communicated reasons.

Communication with administrative leadership was minimal and the overall work experience was frustrating.  

Clinical staff are undersupported and management doesn't seem to care or do anything about poor morale.  Workplace culture was in the toilet.

Benefits are poor compared to other employers in the region (No 401k match, very high deductible health plan with minimal employer match, etc).  They do offer free labs, but that is a pretty minimal benefit for most of us.

The hardest part of the job was trying to fix problems and feeling like management didn't care or understand.

My most enjoyable part of the job was providing my resignation notice (and taking care of patients while an employee).

Patients in Central Oregon deserve a better healthcare organization than this one.  So do you.  Look elsewhere.

I wouldn't recommend working for this company to my worst enemy. The management is utterly incompetent and completely detached from the needs of their employees. 

Firstly, the pay is insultingly low, making it nearly impossible to make ends meet. Raises are as rare as a blue moon, and when they do come, they're a mere pittance—fifty cents. 

The PTO policies are a joke. Accrual rates are abysmally slow, and if you are sick they take the little you may have accrued. 

Health insurance? It's both expensive and terrible in terms of coverage. You'd be better off relying on prayer for healthcare than this company's insurance plan. 

Staffing levels are constantly at rock bottom, meaning those who do show up are overworked and underappreciated. Breaks? Forget about it. You're lucky to snatch a moment to grab a bite to eat between tasks. 

And as for management? Useless doesn't even begin to cover it. They're deaf to employee concerns, blind to their own shortcomings, and utterly devoid of any leadership qualities. 

In summary, working here is a soul-crushing experience that will leave you broke, exhausted, and utterly disillusioned. Avoid this company like the plague. There are PLENTY of other healthcare jobs available with better pay, benefits and management. 

After working in a very large corporation for many years, it has been refreshing to work for a grassroots company that has been growing steadily, yet working hard to mainly a culture of innovation and teamwork with a smaller organization feel. Our management team works closely together on initiatives to keep forward progress and find technology solutions that work. Staff have ample opportunity to participate in quality improvement work, share ideas, and become part of the solution to any problem we may face. Cost of living is a challenge in our area, and turnover due to this is an active priority for our company. I feel lucky to work at a company that listens, cares, and takes the necessary steps to make positive changes. The team of operations managers directly work on strategic company initiatives while managing their areas of responsibility. Because of this, trust in employees is imperative and having the ability to work independently, self motivated, is a must to work here. Hard work and loyalty is rewarded, with opportunity for growth.

Overall a good organization to work for.  Approach is less structured than a large health care organization.  The positive to this lies in the diversity of positions and ability to take on projects to enhance your learning and experience.  The organization supports internal promotion so being an actively engaged, ambitious employee can result in promotion or expansion of existing role.  The company has recently sustained a healthy growth pattern, which is overall positive, but does create some infrastructure challenges.  The feeling of the organization is still small though, and the company remains nimble enough to adapt quickly to changes in the local health care market.  The company seems to be engaged in using technology to advance health care, which provides a sense of confidence within the organization.  Comp and benefits are competitive for the Central Oregon market- standard health care/dental/vision/401k etc.  I would recommend this organization to a friend.

I love working for Praxis Medical Group in my current role and I don't say that as lightly as it sounds. 
I come to work each day excited to offer patient care that I am proud of with a like-minded team. 

I do wish the medical benefits offered more in the way of coverage and weren't such expensive choices (between PPO and HSA options - both are spendy!), but I am happy with the other benefits offered and that I have medical coverage at all. 

I feel encouraged to express ideas that can enhance my role and provide optimal patient care under my current management. 
Continued training is highly recommended in my role and I feel supported when asking for specific education, classes, webinars, etc. 

Collaboration with other services are valued here and I feel patients greatly benefit from the many integrated services.

I loved working with my coworkers and loved the patients, but management is not great. They frequently complained when someone requested off (even months in advance.) They are constantly short handed and clinical staff is expected to cross cover multiple providers almost daily. They do not have enough upper management staff, so communication between administration and clinical staff is terrible. They expect new procedures to be performed without actually telling everyone what needs to be done. They do not pay clinical staff very competitively, and often the reception team will make more than MA’s. They hire non certified staff for clinical roles and expect them to be completely trained after a month of training. The health benefits are not great. Praxis values their patients extremely well, but in result the staff and day to day operations are neglected.

I started with this company almost 2 years ago and chose Praxis over a similar job offer because of the people. My priority was to join a team that valued skill, innovation and creativity, led by management I could learn from and look up to, and I found it! I consider my boss a mentor. He is a brilliant leader, who skillfully unites people across different departments and opinions to achieve common goals. Our team is small, but we are in charge of projects that reach across the entire organization, so am regularly in contact with a multitude of people in other departments, the majority of whom are very cool folks with a similar passion for contributing high quality work and co-creating a positive work culture. I feel very grateful to work here, with wonderful coworkers, and to feel supported, valued and APPRECIATED for the work I do.

The company has been steadily growing and improving, especially with new management in place. The culture has shown consistent progress, and leadership roles are available for those who are motivated, with mentorship opportunities to help develop into those positions. Like any workplace, there are imperfections, but current management genuinely seems to care, is committed to change, and values the opinions of team members. It feels like a place where your voice can make a difference.
