Proof of the Pudding

A typical workday includes cooking, serving, cleaning, and catering to every  customer's whim. We work with broken equipment that Corporate Proof of the Pudding refuses to replace. They criticize us for not making a lot of money in our location, however our profits rely entirely on the people who book the event space. They are not willing to even try to invest in our location in order to improve our working conditions. I had to fight for a year just to get the company to give me pencils with erasers and sharpies. They require me to do everything a manager does and even gave me the title of manager yet they refuse to give me the correct pay. We work hard, yet sadly Proof of the Pudding does not care about that. All they care about are the things we've done wrong. The only thing I enjoy about this job is that I get to see and talk to my co-workers. We've gone through two DMs and are now on the third. The first was disrespectful and didn't know what he was doing. The second was respectful but didn't know what he was doing and didn't really seem to care. However, this current one is respectful and seems to know what she is doing so maybe things will improve from here. I don't have much faith in that but I'm hoping she will change things.

Decent job if you want something on the side from your main job, but you shouldn't expect any kind of promotion/raise/benefits. 
They use non-profit organizations so they don't have to pay their staff as much, your job title doesn't matter because of some fine print at the bottom of your contract: "...and whatever else we need you to do..." so you end up doing things you didn't apply for. 
Management is moody and takes it out on employees, clients and non-profit groups alike complain about upper management.
Only room for advancement is if you move/travel far away from the place you originally apply for. 
Constant lies with zero follow through from management about anything that would take effort to make employee jobs easier.

Proof of the Pudding is a company that I would never recommend to anyone. They require you to be on your feet for an entire shift (7-14 hour shifts) with little to no break. None of the management is willing to guide or train new employees. What is worst of all is there is a very slight and almost impossible chance of being able to move up or be promoted in the company, even after working for them for nearly 5 years. All hard work done here is going completely unnoticed. The pay is just okay, depending on which location you choose to work. Overall, I give this company a 2/10. It has potential to be much higher if management treated employees fairly and if there were opportunities for advancement.

The CULTURE!!! And senior leadership….!!!

It’s hospitality and events…..  As prepared as you can be.  Anything can go wrong!!!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Exciting and filled with new and exciting events, and great people.  There is always something for the team. From holiday and special day events, organized lunches and outings.. And most importantly.  The support and growth you attain on a daily basis is unparalleled to most companies.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast and Furious.  I work on a race track giving five star hospitality to all!!!

Proof of the Pudding is a catering company so the job site was usually different each time. I, however, was fortunate enough to have a few job sites that were consistent such as, The Gwinnett Arena, Kennesaw State Soccer Stadium, Conyers Horse Park along with a couple others. The job requires a lot of driving and good time management. I did a variety of tasks with Proof because I wanted to try all different areas of the spectrum. I was a server, bartender, suite captain, and handled inventory and cash drawers over $300. This job taught me excellent time management, how to handle difficult situations with customers, how to professionally carry myself at work and how to have fun at work while remaining on task.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Getting to meet new people through different event venues. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The human resources department is NOT helpful in the ways they should be.
You can never get a proper solution  when you go to them with an issue. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Specifically at the location I worked at (Carter Center) it was very toxic and hostile. The GM is a very spiteful person that keeps division within her team. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Frustrating  and very hostile.

It's a lot of busy work, even in the front of the house. Once we find a rhythm, things go pretty smoothly. I've figured out how to be efficient whenever working, but it did take some getting used to. Coworkers are friendly and helpful, and most senior workers will be glad to help you out.

Managers keep you on your feet for the whole 10 or so hours you're working a game and only let you sit whenever you're taking your break. Shift manager rarely contacts me or puts me on the schedule to work, even when there are games in town, so I only wind up working a game every month or two.

A very busy job when busy, and very slow when its not. Gained early management experience and techniques here, as well as dealing with some other employees and some unsatisfied customers. My coworkers understood my liaison position between them and the higher management and respected the authority as such. The hardest part of the job was ensuring coworkers maintained cash balances.

i don’t have any thing to say a being stressful. every thing is good
