Worked here for over a year. Training was cut very short, so I had to figure things out on the fly after maybe three days. Each day was spent seeing clients back-to-back. The only time to do your notes was either if a client didn't show (and you weren't pressured into doing an intake or group) or if you worked past your shift. There was no time for care coordination unless it was during lunch or outside of shift hours. I often was forced to cancel sessions with clients to cover groups with only a few minutes' notice. While there was support from coworkers, everyone was so pressured to work constantly that even peer support felt stressful. Discussing this with supervisors only resulted in being scrutinized more. 

Helping the clients was the most rewarding part of the position, but the way upper management speaks about them shows how they do not prioritize them. While conducting mental health assessments, the director would accept clients who were clearly in need of a higher level of care for the sake of "dealing with it later." 

The agency is open every day of the year and you are expected to work at least two to three of the major holidays, and all of the minor ones. No mental health days, minimal vacation/personal time, and you are pressured to come in when sick.

Honestly, the best part of this job was in finding out what the bottom is in the field.

Starting at RevCore as a new clinician, it came with several challenges (as expected with a new clinical job/new job in the field). With any job, there are expectations/tasks to meet as a counselor working at an outpatient substance abuse clinic (treatment planning, progress notes, coordinating care to make sure the client/individual is getting the care they need/are there for).  I’ve been able to build my clinical skills  throughout the years and I continue to learn and grow while working at this agency. I’ve been able to attend trainings with the support of RevCore to build clinical skills. I’ve also been able to build my skills as an advocate for clients and find ways to connect people to resources they need, which is a rewarding part of this job. The support is there with supervisors and upper management and even supervisors who aren’t my direct supervisor are willing to help with any questions/concerns. There are also opportunities to grow within the company and RevCore is open to finding ways to make the program better for both staff and the clients.

This agency's overall work environment is limited of career advancement, an overloaded and exhaustive work environment, minimal opportunities to enhance a clinical skills set and implement interventions with sufficient, supportive and professional supervision.

Administration is domineering and does not provide a supportive learning space for interns and new hires. The on-boarding process is insufficient, and you will be given a caseload of clients, with no guidance and expected to track services- even when you have NO GUIDANCE OR UNDERSTANDING ON HOW TO PROCEED. Every counselor is overworked and under-paid, so it is impossible to lean on assistance. Supervision is only used as a venting session not a learning space.

The work culture, influenced by administration (Clinical Program Director, Director of Operations, Legal Liaison,) is unproductive, unprofessional, highly critical and unsupportive. There is a severe deficiency of client-centered care prompted by administration. 

Working at Revcore has been a great learning experience. Everyone is very supportive and wants you to succeed. Supervision is structured and I receive a lot of support from my supervisors. They really care about the well being of staff and patients and they want everyone to succeed. We all work as a team and when things get stressful we are able to help each other out. I have learned so many clinical skills in the years that I have been employed with Revcore. Revcore is very patient centered and they are always looking for new ways to improve the program. Administration is very supportive and always wants you to grow within the agency. There are a lot of opportunities for career advancement. 

Not dedicated to staff. As much as you put in always want MORE for their pockets. No recognition. All they care about is what you can do for them. When covid happened they demanded for staff to come in when CDC directed them not to do so. Really need to take the time to appreciate good workers and be less obvious about favoritism especially the CEO. You will be singled out if he doesn't like you. HR loves to micro manage and has to be put in her place from time to time. 

The work was really interesting and colleagues were awesome, however the job felt exploitative of both clients and staff, people were overworked, underpaid, and the clients were all required to come in 5 days a week for groups and individual sessions regardless of their risk level or addiction status, I just didn't see any individualized care and it puts stress on the clients and staff because they feel like we're working against them rather than advocating for them

Upper management only cares about numbers, and makes decisions that harm patients’ treatment. Staff is undervalued and underpaid.  Staff’s jobs are threatened frequently, on the basis of low patient engagement, which is an agency-wide issue. 

The only positive would be the excellent LMHC supervisors, who truly care and advocate for their supervisees. Otherwise, not a good environment.

When the higher ups care nothing of your safety, speak down to you and aren’t doing cultural sensitive to their staff.

I needed the job and they hired me. It was definitely a good experience, but of course there are good and bad things about every job. I just want to highlight that I learned a lot, but sometimes I would have trouble with my immediate supervisor. There was not too much people, but I worked during COViD so that explains it.
