Typical day:  7:00 log on and sync computer….1 hour later, rearrange schedule due to changes made since last night, drive 40 miles to first patient, 15 miles to second patient 20 miles to third patient, suddenly receive 3 phone messages now that I have cell service for the first time all day on my private phone since I did not receive a work phone, pull over on the side of the pot-hole ridden road to call people back, but lose cell service in the middle of call….keep going, 15 miles to next eval, go to next two patients, finally get home at 5:30, open up computer to finish documentation and schedule next days patients, 7:00 call next day's patients to confirm times, send email to office stating who I saw and who I confirmed, upcoming discharges, etc.  8:00 realize I never ate lunch, dinner or went to bathroom.  Take care of eating, say hi to other people in household and go to bed, knowing I got paid for only 6 points.
What I learned:  READ YOU CONTRACT WITH A LAWYER BEFORE YOU SIGN IT.  Do not believe what you were told upon being offered the job is what is in your contract.  Do not settle for what they offer you.  Ask for what you want.  If they will not agree, do not take the job.
Management:  disorganized, disrespectful, oblivious to the real world and what other employers offer physical therapists and do not learn from past mistakes.  Hence…high turnover rate of therapists.
My Coworkers:  Awesome people who are putting up with more than should ever be expected.
Hardest part of the job:  doing what is right for the patient then spending double that time doing what the company wants.  Healthcare is not about the patient care anymore; it is about what you document.  12 hour days satisfy both the patient and the employer, but NOT the employee.
Most enjoyable part of the job:  being a part of patients regaining the ability to do things they have not been able to do for weeks months or even years.  That they allow me to be part of their journey is an opportunity many people don't get in their lifetime.  I get to do it every day.

I have been working at revolutionary in Olyphant for years.  This place lets you practice independently.  The management does not constantly give you negative feedback and allows you to work with your patients as a true clinician.  They never tell us how many times to see a patient, they are not focused on how much money they can make off every patient like other home health companies that complete a formula and disallow patient visits based upon the formula or make you discharge patients before they are ready, just because they are going to lose profits.  The benefits are standard for anyplace.  I have yet to see a job where you get full healthcare benefits day one.  They recently gave everyone an extra vacation day for all the hard work we do.  We had a great meeting where everyone just spoke about funny things that happened to us or patients in the clinical arena.  The management truly cares about the employees and are always trying to balance happy workers and happy patients.   It is unfortunate that a colleague that left has such terrible things to say.....I know that everyone bent over backward for her to keep her in her territory, putting stress on all the other staff members because she refused to drive "far".  20 miles in my opinion is not far, most people that travel to work, well, they drive further to that and do not get paid for it.  However, my experience has been nothing but positive.  Home health is not for everyone, this is evident, you have to drive because patients do not live in the same home.  This requires you to be out in the cold or rain at times knocking on a door, some would not like this.  However, I enjoy my drives in the new company cars with free gas to "get to work" which I NEVER have to pay for.   I like being able to take my lunch whenever I am hungry and not have to be set by a clock.  Not sure why something would be posted about cell phones, we live in an area with many dead spots, those of us with our own private phones know what its like to get a message when we get back in service.    I would like to encourage anyone to do a ride along, this is a nice company for someone who wants autonomy and being treated as a professional.

I graduated nursing school and this was yep, during the pandemic.  I wanted to work outside a hospital, definitely NOT in a nursing home and a friend of mine mentioned this company because she’s been working there for about 8 years now and said they have a new graduate program.  I have to say I am so glad I took this job.  First, your orientation is 12 weeks.  First part is learning the computer and the rules of home health (kinda boring), then you go out with a teacher into the field for 6 weeks.  I was doing the most awesome things! Central line care, accessing ports, g/j tubes, pluerex catheters, inserting IV, drawing blood, wounds of all kinds!  I received certification in central lines and IV! I also got wound vac certification, this place wants to teach you which is crazy good.  I get to set up my own schedule and I get to start at home and go home after I see the patients on my list.  I get home early but I’m paid for the entire day!! When I had my doctors appointment, I didn’t have to take off work, just went there in between my patients!  Oh and the snow! Well my friends that got a job in the hospital have to go in no matter what and if it’s getting snowy, they don’t get to go home! Guess what, if it’s snowing I just go home and move my patients to another day.  If the weather is bad I just see more people the day before and the day after then I can stay home and not use any PTO.  The clinical director is very nice.  I really love working here and I’m glad my friend mentioned them


I was a little skeptical about home health and unsure.  Worked mostly in hospital.  I'm glad I made the move.  First off, the orientation process is amazing! Six weeks with extension if you need it.  They are focused on education, so I was certified in IV, phlebotomy, central lines (and precepted to put in midlines), LVAD, wound vac, and more.  One thing is the expectation of professionalism is very high.  You are trained to take good care of your patients and you're expected to do just that.  Over the past 6 months they have been working hard to teach us work/life balance, and ensure we move in that direction.  Sometimes staff become very disgruntled, especially when they are disciplined for not meeting the standards of professionalism, but most can make it and the company do everything to assist with making the staff member successful.  Typical day for RN is to see either three start of cares or six routine visits.  Schedule is done by 2pm for next day so you can set up your day early before going home.  You are allowed to see more patients to earn extra money.  I usually work about 7 hours per day but make my whole salary.  Some staff are more efficient and see more.  You're taught to complete all charts in home and charting is easy.  They do not want you "bringing work home" cause that's your personal time.  LPN sees 6 visits a day.  One RN and one LPN are on call once per week and one weekend per month (better than every other week)

Where to begin. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to be employed by Revolutionary for a year. Not only have I gained vital nursing experience, I have also been able to be a part of an amazing team. From the Clinical Director, Administration, supervisors, office staff, billing, scheduling, reception, HR, intake and field staff, all are outstanding in their field of expertise. From day one, feeling like you are part of a team, a family and having your voice heard was very encouraging. From employee incentives to positive reinforcement, Revolutionary does it all. The in house training and continuing education in all fileds was exceptional. Concurrent staff meetings and webinars were not only informative but necessary to continually provide excellence in healthcare. Seeing and feeling the difference a nurse can make in someones life, is what Revolutionary is all about, and in my opinion, is what separates them from all the rest. Compassion,  support and skilled nursing provided to all patients, from infant to the aging is truly unmatched. Any nursing experience is truly what one makes it, so, if you are not compassionate, aren't patient centered and geared toward providing great care, aren't willing to learn and possibly experience and be exposed to new situations, aren't willing to drive and have a flexible schedule, then Revolutionary is not for you.

You do not collect a paycheck when you start until after you see 8 patients. Not knowing when you will ever get 8 patients being you are working per diem, it could be months before you actually get the 8 and get a paycheck. This is considered orientation period as well so you don't get the full rate.  It was almost a month and I did not get a paycheck, for the orientation I did and I was able to only have 1 shadow day with one patient.The ad for this position promises training/ shadowing but if you are per diem they only want to offer a  shadow for you 1 or 2 times, then you're on your own. I think they tend to cater more to filling fulltime workers schedules than per diem. I should of known something was off about this place when I initially was offered the position because I was scheduled for training and I was not given proper new hire paperwork until a week later- W-4, child abuse/ FBI clearance, and all the paperwork that was emailed to me to sign was never gone over with me- thus how you get paid and when. Also the day I went for an interview the two administrators I was to meet with left and I ended up meeting with an LPN that works there. Huge waste of time, very disappointed. I was counting on this job as a second income and was very let down with the whole process

The positive thing about working here is that the field is phenomenal and supportive. Many a times I received professional guidance and emotional counsel from my colleagues that I didn't receive from the company.

Upper management is disorganized. Management would talk about making your own schedule and having flexibility. but if we finish all our patients for the day early, they would call us up and tell us to see more people saying that we have to be available 8-5 because it's 8h work day. So many people voiced complaint about it and they still do nothing about it. You're required to do at least  1 night on call a week and 1 weekend on call a month, and are expected to block that time off for if there is anything added last minute. Management is disrespectful, as I have been talked down on more than once. 

The company is severely short staffed because they pay their workers only prevailing wage and doesn't have good benefit package. I left because there was no job advancement in this position; they offer no reimbursement for my continuing education and/or higher education.

I don’t know where to start. Upper management are some of the worst people I have worked with. They are condescending, uncaring and just downright rude. They do not care about their employees. They take the “everyone’s replaceable” attitude to a whole new level. This office has been a revolving door and can not keep employees for more than a year or two. They simply do not care. I was eager and excited when hired to hear that they “value colleagues and are one big family”. Turns out the only family that they were talking about was the literal family in the office. Holy nepotism. Pay is way too low for the role expectations compared to other companies. Concerns and suggestions raised to management go unacknowledged. Overtime was discussed in the interview process and quickly taken away stating “it’s unnecessary” when in fact, it’s completely necessary to get all of the expected tasks completed. CFO is one of the rudest humans I have ever met. They do not care about patients or staff and are 100% money hungry at any cost. Both field and office staff feel unheard and under-appreciated. It is a true shame because immediate colleagues are amazing, but upper management is just horrific. Bottom line: don’t choose RHH if you have other options. 

I was very excited to learn that I was offered the Job at Revolutionary Home Health 2 years ago.  I was one of 15 applicants and this was my second time applying for the position.  The company is always growing and I was happy to have another chance.  It was worth the second application.  I started with "class" orientation, learned A LOT, became certified in IV, Central Lines and Phelbotomy.  Then I learned all about home health and what to expect (my background was the ER).  Later They paid for me to get my oncological nursing society certification in chemo and biologics.  All I can say is that this company wants to make sure that all the staff representing them are VERY knowledgeable.  This type of support is RARE, most places just want a body......they want a confident professional, and they tell you this.  I'm proud to be part of the revolutionary team!  I know I will retire here......maybe a future in management?  I just know this is the company I plan to stay with and retire with.

During my time at Revolutionary, I felt there was poor support for field staff and poor communication among poorly trained office staff. During a typical day at work, field staff required to call in at 8:10, and inbetween every pt thereafter. I believe that would be okay, except that addition to those calls, I was called multiple times daily unnecessarily to be reminded to do things I already completed on time, and other information requests which were already documented or explained to 3 other office staff since week before. Office staff not able to make decisions; they must call CFO in Olyphant, PA and wait up to 1 month for clinical decisions. CFO has no medical background. Paychecks wrong-in Revolutionary favor. Another example of office disorder is that there are dogs in the office that fight and also walk through staff meetings and meetings with vendors. Hardest part of job is office staff does not understand/respect field work or case management. Although all of the unprofessional interuptions existed, the most enjoyable part of job was helping patients and their families.
