Simplicity Home Care

After working for simplicity for a year,  I still haven't recieved the raise promised at 3 months.  The office staff has a very high turn over rate. Caregivers are not given information needed to do their jobs. Rules about having clients phone number/clients having caregivers phone numbers,  changed at some point.  Not given updated handbook to inform of policy changes. I personally have never had a complaint from my clients, however, when asking for the raise I deserved I was informed that they had issues with me not following rules that I was never informed of. No work life balance. No understanding from management or office staff. You are required to interview 2 times before being hired. As in the first time they will deny you,  then you can reapply when the job posting goes back up in a few weeks and (maybe) get hired then. The hardest part is this job is getting attached to your clients, and the interactions with office staff. Never knowing who your coordinator is.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay and meeting your clients , and working to better there day and make there lives easier.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The demand of workers needed to take care of clients.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very friendly and supervisors were very helpful. I learned a lot of different and easy ways to care for my clients and there families needs.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive at clients clock in. Cook breakfast and bring client there medications. Learned how to use a hoyer lift. Do chores around the house make or prep dinner and clock out and drive home.

I liked working with my clients because they are very nice easy to work with the hardest part about working there with the client is sometimes the clients husband or wife do not get along with the worker and it's hard to work for somebody that is very hard to work with because they are just so stubborn about stuff and they yell and make things very difficult I am not working for that one person I am working for the client that is in need

The clients and job can be hard. The office staff make it worth it. Being a caregiver requires you to be dependable and the office is always supportive helping you stay that way. The office does get busy but I get calls back or messages addressing what I need. They prepared me before every shift. I did travel for some clients but when I addressed these concerns the office adjusted it right away. My only complaint is hearing clients complain about bad caregivers who have come in before me. I think people who apply need to be dependable and now caregiving is not easy so stop using it as a setting stone. Be prepared or don't apply.  

I've been with Simplicity Home Care for about a year and a half now and I'm very happy with my current job.  The office staff seem to genuinely care and try to assign you to clients that you will mesh with well.  If there are questions that I may have the client's case manager is always available to answer questions.  The management team regularly sends out messages that praises individuals that are going above and beyond for their clients.  If you are looking for a job I highly recommend Simplicity.  Others may have had different experiences but mine have always been positive.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
Friendly coworkers, but honestly I can't say much else positive. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Rude clients, flaky caregivers who may or may not bother to show up for shifts, management expects office staff to replace them when they don't show... Absolute disaster. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Honestly, communication between management and other staff is poor, the environment was cliquey, and it felt like there was no concern for stress levels of running an understaffed office.

A typical day is arriving and greeting client(s). Light/heavy housekeeping, cooking, stand by assistance, daily goals, outings and general care for the elderly.  Management was ok but hard to reach. The owner was very accommodating. The hardest part of the job was working for 2 in the household but only being paid for 1 who was contracted. Of course the most enjoyable part of the job were the families and clients that you grew a relationship with. 

Simplicity is a wonderful company to work for if you need to balance home life, school, children, and busy schedules with work. Simplicity has allowed me to focus on school while working at the same time. The office staff are caring and understanding while still holding true to their values and expectations. This is a wonderful place to work, and the office staff are always looking to grow individuals and see people succeed.

Honestly was one of my favorite jobs, it’s very flexible with your availability, the staff are very understanding and nice, especially if you have an emergency come up, but what I will say is the pay is a bit low for some of the tasks you’ll be taking on and you’ll probably have hard time getting a decent amount of hours or replacement clients if need be, just didn’t seem like there was lots of diligence in those areas from my time there.
