My own experience at TPMG has been positive overall, and my own management "chain of command" has been VERY supportive of my work and professional development. Working in the IT Department in a role that involves both remote and on-site technical support, I have seen what it's like in offices all over the Company. There are medical offices that are overseen by competent managers and run by exceptional doctors, and their leadership proves to be a major success factor for employees in those offices. There are also offices that have a very toxic work environment, paranoid micro-managers, and/or doctors who will try to "bear down" on employees (even employees who are NOT part of their own practice!). Those offices have a high rate of turnover and (in a few cases) even have difficulty retaining office managers, resulting in a cycle of constantly having to train new management and staff. A lot of the negative reviews come from people who are/were in the "bad" offices.

My advice to someone seeking employment at TPMG would be to ask current employees in the office or department offering a given position before applying. It can mean the difference between a rewarding career and a "resume stain".

The pros and cons I list below apply only to the IT Department and should not be taken into consideration for positions in other TPMG offices/departments

● Pay & benefits
Raises are no more than .30 per year. Hard work does not pay off. Insurance is high deductible plan that are not affordable

● Job security and advancement
Well this is a warning.  They will lay you off with no warning. 14 of us were laid off at one time on a conference call on a Sunday afternoon and told not to come in that Monday due to “unforeseen circumstances” COVID.  We were also told that once they were able to hire us back they would call us.  Well it has been 4 months since lay off and this job opening is available.  Now why didn’t they call any of us back? Some of us were there 7 or more years and were strong and dependable employees.    NO JOB SECURITY.

● Management
No trust in office manager. Nothing is held in confidence. If she was friends with some employees they would know everything about you personally and privately. Open door policy is very open. Talks about employees to other employees. Employees are not held accountable for their actions. Coming in late and calling out of work on a regular basis holds no disciplinary action. Work ethic is not held to a high standard.

● Overall
WARNING!!  Do not apply. If you want to deal with pettiness and drama then this is the place for you. Management will not have your back and they will allow a substandard work ethic among employees.  If you are a hard worker and want to be treated with respect then apply elsewhere.

I enjoyed working for the doctors and the overall company. But the location in west point lacked management and authoritative protocol. The manager and a few of the office/nurse workers played favorites with patients as well as other employees and would constantly bend the rules for those specific people. They would sneak them in the side door and "check them out" without checking them in, collecting copays or anything like that. The manager allowed one of the employees (that honestly everyone in the office is afraid of) yell and cuss at her, she left and did whatever she wanted to because everyone is afraid of her but she has worked their for as long as they have been open. And while she is good at her job she lacks in people skills. This location in general is just poorly ran and need a huge management and employee overhaul.

I came from Sentara Careplex where management is a complete joke! My manager at TPMG is amazing and a great leader! I am very well compensated based on my evaluations every year and it shows my boss' and the doctors appreciation for all I do! I couldn't make this kind of money in the hospital and I certainly wouldn't get the raises I get as everything at the hospital is an "across the board" raise...meaning everyone gets the same percentage regardless. The docs I work with are great and well receptive. My coworkers are a exceptional! Room for growth is minimal in my area as we are a surgery center, but for now I am fine with that. Thanks TPMG for a wonderful work environment! 

If you are looking for a place where there is minimal training, poor pay & benefits, and you like to be over worked because of inefficient workflows, then TPMG is the place for you! The office staff turnover rate is ridiculous.  TPMG I not a structured organization.  They do not have executive leaders  who know how to develop Key Performance indicators and set goals to drive results.  In order for a company to be successful, there needs to be senior leaders in place with a great understanding of Revenue Cycle Management and accountability in all areas.

I worked at the Hollad Road Office. They put on a great show for 90 days.  After that the masks come off.  Management talks about other employees to other employees.  In meetings staff has been told not to trust this person or that person. Management has even said they wish they could get rid of certain employees who have been there too long.  
Human resources does not care. They tell new staff you haven't been there long enough to form an opinion.  They reached out 3 months after to find out about self termination.  Then absolutely no follow up. Especially with what would be considered alarming behaviors. 

The work load is unbearable. You feel like your head is swimming most of the day. It's hard to feel like you successfully accomplished tasks through out the day. The pay for the work load is a joke. You don't feel welcomed by most of the staff but told it's just how the group is. It's uncomfortable and like walking on egg shells every day. You go in and are there for yourself and that's it. You never fully get your 30 min break. It's a poor place to work. The company is there for It's patients but no loyalty or pride in their employees

Please avoid this place.  These clinics are poorly managed and their Human Resources are corrupted as well.  Money goes in pocket of doctors and not improving the computers, software, medical rooms, and lobby. Hardest part of the job is working in poor conditions, patients waiting long extended hours to be seen due to poor management of scheduling style, which causes the medical staff to cut corners with patients. Many health violations. Stay away from this place. You will regret it. They need to be reported for HIPAA, CLIA, and OSHA!

I found the Central Billing Office to be very different than the medical billing world I am used too. I found some billing practices in the office that did not seem quite ethical. This was probably due to poor training and not being done on purpose, especially when some in charge were teaching the wrong thing.  I was made to feel like I was annoying when asking questions of what I believed were valid things that I needed to know to know how to perform my job. I feel like TPMG's Billing Office makes things way harder than they need to be. Too many hands in the billing pot,  I lasted a week there.
