Worked here for a while in 2009-2010. Management was really good and recognize and appreciate the hard work that the employees put in. Warehouse was clean but receiving was a pain as there was not to much room for new parts coming in. They did have digital scanners for both receiver and driver which was a huge plus especially for receiving. I think there new location is double in size which the receiver and drivers must like but I'm sure they aren't the same I worked with. I ran into an old coworker last summer and she wasn't working there anymore because of pay so she went to school.
I mostly drive the west and St. Albert run and really enjoyed it. Customers were always great except for a few that were just grouchy at life but they never ordered much so it didn't bother me.
The runs are organized very well with set run times which was so nice compared to a parts company I recently worked for. Pay was quite a bit better than worldpac and they had good benefits like worldpac but the had some old vehicles and everyone didn't really care for the manager. For sure a different atmosphere than worldpac. Worldpac was like a team, everybody got along and the managers always encouraged us to help eachother out when we could. The only thing is that they need more trucks. There are 5 trucks but it is hard to deliver a large area in short amounts of time without being late for next runs.

I would go work there again but I can't afford to. Maybe pay is better now but in 2009-2010 it was $12.75 an hour when I was there. They really try to sell there benifits but I can't pay rent and all my other bills with that. Probably good for someone with a pension or living with parents.
I thought about staying and working my way into management or sales but I wanted to move out of my parents house and rent costs over 2 weeks pay so I left and did hotshot for a oil company.

All in all if you want to work somewhere and don't need to make a high wage but work in a great atmosphere then this is the place.

Always precise and on time with daily, weekly and monthly reports.
Attention to detail forecasting and managing branch budget.
Very well liked as manager, a real team player.
Treats teammates and customers with respect.
Supervised (yearly) branch material inventory.
Achieved and maintained the companies highest inventory accuracy rate of 99.8% for 3 consecutive yrs.

With his firm approach towards safety, his teammates and branch surpassed 75 other branch’s becoming top in the company by obtaining "0" warehouse injuries and "0" vehicle accidents over 2 consecutive years.

What I've learned: Attitude and Work ethics.
Every day there is something new to learn and achieve. No matter how discouraging things may seem, having a very positive attitude will change the hopeless to hopeful.

Typical work day: Starts at 0530, opening the branch, uploading picks for the morning, opening mail that would concern driver’s alerts, send completed reports of (yesterday’s activities and/or issues). 0700 conduct / oversee daily safety meeting. 0730 Return all e-mails, route inquiries, material requests, etc. 0900 attend manager meetings, 1000 create daily report (this would last until the next morning), 1100 - 1500 ensure daily picks are complete; review route updates placing new customers on proper routes, reviewing profit and loss for each route.
*above demonstrates a smooth day, which seemed to be far and few between.
Baring any complications, issues or complaints, I would be able to leave about 1530 hrs.

Hardest part: Terminating a teammate.

Most enjoyable part: Taking all branch employees out for a holiday dinner. Holding team meetings to congratulate teammate’s achievements.

1.  Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
2.  Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
3.  Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
4.  Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
5. File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
6.  Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
7.  Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
8.  Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
9.  Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
10.  Assist in counting of physical inventory.
11.  Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
12.  May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
13.  Prepare parcels for mailing.
14.  Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
15.  Wear the proper safety equipment.

Worldpac is not a good company to work for. They have a "point system" If you get 5 points you get fired immediately.
A typical day consists of 5 runs a day on a delivery route and your route could have up to 30+ customers and you have a 2 hour window to to the route and get back for the next run no matter how many delivery drops you have. The hardest part of the job is some routes require you to go without breaks or lunch break on a daily basis.
When a problem is reported to Management it is derailed or dismissed. Raises consist of $.17 to $.50 per year and there is no promotions with in and each open higher paying position must be applied for just like any other person on the street. There is consitant favoritism and gossip by management as well as being yelled at if a supervisor is in a bad mood. There is retaliation for reporting problems to HR and for calling in sick.
I learned a lot of different areas that I didn't know and met a lot of great people on my routes, some of them I looked forward to delivering to, they were always pleasant and happy to see me.
While Worldpac has a good starting pay and benefits they are a very  unpleasant company to work for especially when your job is on the line on a daily basis and one accident could cost you your job no matter how long you've worked for them. Nobody except management is safe from termination on any given day regardless of how dependable or hard you work.

A typical day of work for me at WorldPac includes unloading trucks, printing daily inventory reports, looking for any discrepancies and ensuring that those discrepancies are corrected by paying close attention to detail and making sure that steps are taken to resolve any issues. I perform bin movements, and primary, scheduled and invoiced cycle counts at the beginning of each day.  I stage up to 750 line items of parts every day.  I put away up to 500 line items of parts on a daily basis.  I have always loved working with automotive parts and have been very successful in positions where I am required to use precision and pay close attention to details.  I love to have things organized, clean and neat, and I am a problem solver. 

From working at WorldPac, I have learned the warehouse side of the automotive parts industry from the company that has the largest import and domestic selection of automotive parts available in North America.  Management has always been very professional at WorldPac.  At WorldPac, we work as a team to ensure the success of the organization.  The hardest part of the position is ensuring that orders are put up in a timely manner when we are understaffed.  The most enjoyable part, of my current position, is knowing that things are done correctly and everything is in order.  I like the feeling of achievement, at the end of the day, when we have gone through eight to twelve pallets of parts, opened them, staged them and put everything away correctly and closed all of the orders electronically.

This company is fun and the hours are amazing! 6am to 2:30pm 
A typical day at work would be pretty much the same thing every single day, working on cold days was sometimes hard but I kept telling myself this is your job keep fighting thru the day, i would dedicate my time to the job, no talking only on times that I need it too. I learned a lot. From doing paper work, to work faster, doing inventory, working with a inventory gun, to using a program in the computer i forgot the name of it but in the program i learned how to look for items that didn't belong to the order that we got, looking at pictures to see if it was the right item that we got, check what location does it goes to. My co-wokers were awesome, they take their time to help you and explain things to you when you need help. The hardest part of the job was sometimes communication with people that thought they knew everything specially the new ones, it was hard to communicate with them but I learned to work with them from the help of the team leaders. The most enjoyable part of the job was to work with my co-workers that knew how to do the job already, you could trust them, communicate with them, yes, even thought we knew how to work we would do little mistakes but we would pick it up fast and fix the problem.

the management does not care about its employees whatsoever. 

They will overwork the “top workers” and allows everyone in the warehouse to do and say whatever they want. 

no one gets punished for their actions, they will fire the employees that help keep the place running.

Management picks and chooses “favourites” and completely could care less who works hard and who gets the job done. 

I started with about 30 employees total for my shift. I left and now they have only 9 employees for overnight shift. The shift is supposed to get out at 11am and now sometimes won’t finish till 12pm so they had to get rid of half of their temporary employees. They treat everyone like garbage and then beg people to stay based on the needs of the warehouse .

There is no compensation for being over worked.

some employees will work for 8 hours , some will walk around the building talking and gossiping with friends or hiding in the restroom. management will get notified and then will tell you, and i quote “as long as the work gets done at the end of the day i don’t care who works and who doesnt”.  

For anyone who sees this, the job is EXACTLY like a highschool. the employees are all above the age of 30 and act like immature children, all because management allowed it and continues to allow it. Now they’re trying to get anyone to work there.

Don't even bother applying here!!!  Easy job all around but gets repetitive with no chance for advancement.  No O.T unless your a driver.  Warehouse employees don't get treated the same as drivers but yet they preach teamwork.  B.S.  Chances of becoming a driver are slim since management has there favorites and keeps them there.  Not because there goodworkers and were rewarded I can honestly say.  You will have to learn all there routes and back them up when they run behind which is everyday.  Some do this on purpose so they can get out work at there convenience.  Some drivers were there longer than me and don't even know how to do basic warehouse duties!!  So dont expect them to do your work when you do theres.  Its basically a break for them while management never questions there work ethic and is in there office jacking around on the internet.  Toxic environment at the San Antonio location.  Ridiculous to know I was getting paid less than a driver that sits for a living all day and does less work throughout the day than me.

World Pac is a great company to work for. In our Center we do between 30-60k in sales a day, 23 drivers including contract drivers. We pick 1400 lines of car parts daily and avg 65 will call orders daily. We have 9 warehouse workers in our department including temps that is constantly filling various position from dispatching,picking and packing orders,to using RF devices to put returned product back on our shelves. We are a high volume warehouse and the beauty of it all   I have had a chance to work with this company now for almost 9yrs. The environment is organized,diverse, and friendly. I've learned how to manage, deal with customers,employees,and upper management. I received my sit down forklift and cherry picker certification because of World Pac. I have had some great managers and  a few who are hard to work with. The hardest part of my job is training new temps and making sure they are up to speed on the what is expected. The employees who I work with are great. We have a good working environment which is why I enjoy working everyday.
