So let me preface this by saying I was on the Inbound SDR Team. Thera are a ton of issues I had with this company so let me break it down one at a time:

1. Leads - As an inbound sales rep here, you rely heavily on your inbound leads. Here’s the issue: they hired over 100 SDRs in a month so now the leads are slim to none. I get maybe 2 a day and both are usually bottom of the barrel leads. I think there’s some clear favoritism in this as well. A couple people from my class who were liked started booking CEOs and VPs and all my leads were bad job titles who would never need our service. They also promote based off of favoritism. I was constantly a leader in dials made and outreach effort but never booked because my leads were that bad

2. LISTS - Oh boy. When you aren’t calling the 2 leads a day you get, you’re calling into lists. These lists are people who have inbounded prior and nobody has been able to contact. Only issue is…250 SDRs going after the same 3 lists is a nightmare. Struggle to find anyone good to call, and when you do someone else usually quickly calls it so you can’t. Its very aggressive and SDRs fight all the time over who called who first.

3. OTE - The OTE they provided in the interview is simply 100% false. You get $10 per completed meeting as an SDR. Well below industry standard. The AVERAGE of completes that i’ve seen from the sales dashboard is 40 a month. 67k OTE is just not possible. 

4. MANAGEMENT - Micromanagement definitely happens. You are just a number. I hit my call requirements every day by a lot and they’d still say “you went missing in this 10 minute time period, what happened?”. They also encourage you to try and work during scheduled vacation days. I also have seen it encouraged to keep your inbound lead engine on all night and always be by your computer to get more leads. Thats how you hit quotas here. You work 24/7.

Overall a bad experience for me. Base pay is decent which is why I stayed, but this is a high stress job full of favoritism. Its all about who is the luckiest with list leads and can cheat the system to get ahead. 

My time at ZoomInfo was unfortunately marred by significant challenges that made it difficult to thrive and maintain a healthy work-life balance. The toxic work environment was evident in the lack of collaboration and support among colleagues, leading to a tense atmosphere that hindered productivity.

The management at ZoomInfo left much to be desired. There was a clear lack of effective leadership, communication, and direction, resulting in confusion about company goals and expectations. Feedback from employees was often overlooked, and decisions seemed to be made without considering the well-being of the workforce.

Perhaps the most disheartening aspect of working at ZoomInfo was the absence of work/life balance. The company culture seemed to prioritize work above all else, leading to long working hours, unreasonable demands, and little regard for personal time and well-being. This imbalance put a strain on mental and physical health, leaving many employees feeling burnt out and disheartened.

I share this review with the hope that ZoomInfo takes these concerns seriously and implements necessary changes to foster a healthier work environment. Addressing these issues would undoubtedly lead to a more positive and productive atmosphere, benefiting both the employees and the company as a whole.

The company itself is impressive in that it is a Unicorn company growing rapidly. There are also some decent perks but mostly available to higher-level employees. As a researcher, the pay met minimum wage. I had a great first 6 months with the company until my team got dissolved due to automation. After that, I was moved to 4 different company research teams where I can say I learned absolutely nothing that is transferable to any other type of work I have done in the past. I always hit my goal here and the work was more monotonous than challenging. There is no real skill set that is provided to you by looking up how many employees work at a company 50 different times on google and then calling that company's HR department to ask the same question. I had a new and great manager every time I was moved to another team, I worked with a lot of great people. I ended up being laid off during a scheduled Zoom call. This was during the pandemic, so understandably everything is currently out of wack, but it was just unfortunate timing. No experience is a waste so I do thank Zoominfo for the time I had with them and this will be an opportunity for a fresh start.

You start out here as an entry level person that schedules inbound demo's people initiate through the website. 

There's no quota--so everyone shares in the lead lists--its essentially training wheels for outbound which is what the previous reviewer had mentioned. 

$10 per completed meeting is fair when you're not cold calling--you're essentially just a scheduler. 

Once you complete 200 scheduled meetings (that are handed to you) you get promoted to outbound where the completion pay is higher but so are the stakes, and workload. Lots of cold calling -  The base salary is pretty generous depending on where you live. There is no micromanaging here. As long as you're hitting 15 consistent dials per hour you're not gonna have any issues. 

Where in any other job can you just take a 15 minute unscheduled break? As an inbound SDR you're paid by the hour and expected to work by the hour. It's not 100% commission. This is baked in your base...

I'm not sure where you can earn $25+ an hour to lay in bed and dial the phone all day from home with 100% paid health insurance benefits and 50k  in stock bonus with no experience....if anyone can find a job better than this let me know

Typical Day: Most days as a Monday-Friday hourly worker I spent my time in a cubicle rotating through mundane research related tasks. Employees were given a 30 minute lunch and sometimes we would have catered lunch and alcoholic happy hours following working hours. Employees had to pay for parking every day.

What do I believe I Learned: As far as my personal professional growth I was stagnant for the three years. ZoomInfo offers little to no professional growth development. I was promoted once and then demoted a few months later. I believe that this company is highly sales oriented in the United States. Most of their research/engineering roles were outsourced to India to save on costs and capitalize on profit. 

Management: I had lots of management changes within the few years I was there. Most of my managers were great. Many of my managers rotated to other roles often. Teams were always changing.  In my role, I never got too many opportunities to converse with upper management.

My personal experience as a former employee (Sales Dev Rep): Management is not transparent but passive aggressive. Various managers in the sales department recently graduated college with no extensive professional back ground experience, resulting in unorganized sales initiative plans and unsatisfied training.
Micromanagement is excessive; not a diverse  work force. Looking at corporate data within the USA, most corporations including Zoominfo are not exceeding more than 20% in diversity and corporate  upper management makes up no more than 5-10%  of diverse folks. You have to fit in anywhere same as here, if you do not you will be targeted for replacement. 

I do not recommend Zoominfo or any other office Corporation job to anyone who Can stomach acting as total different person at the office to fit in.; some folks would call this a hypocritical environment (yes corporate is hypocritical). 

I recently began working at Zoominfo after its acquisition by discoverorg and the ipo. What really attracted me to this company is they live by their values. If you have ideas, have a plan you get buy in quickly to implement your ideas. I am so energized by this type of culture since previously I struggled in other companies where I had to sell my ideas to many people and many times that most of my work was creating decks. By the time approval came - we missed the window of opportunity. It really made me assess where I was spending most of my time and the value I was adding since my time is precious. Zoominfo welcomes diverse points of view and gives you the room to test your ideas. I love being empowered since we all bring important perspectives to the table and should have a voice.

The pay was so low, I had to get a 2nd job to be able to pay my rent. The team managers were very good with flexability as long as you let them know. The job itself was odd. You called corporations all over the world just to ask them how many people they employed. This is a SaaS business, and they need accurate info. If a company was publically traded, info is online, but if they are not, you had to call them. Some places got very angry, thinking you were trying to scam them. Actually, most places thought that. Calling Europe and Asia was hit and miss. In coutries where English is not the language, it was especially hard. Many people had a working knowledge, but it was still very awkward and often not a good experience. 

After first it feels like one big giant family all working together which is an awesome feeling. The managers and TD's make it feel like they truly have your back if there is ever a problem. But in reality you're just a worker making them money. No more, no less. Your a dollar sign. Heaven forbid you have a personal emergency. Ugh, they give their "employee sources" And how its really important to take a day because mental health is important. And when it feels like your world is crashing, your suffocating, you still make sure your manager and team lead are in the know and up to date because "they are there  to help you succeed, they fire you without a care in the world.


What is the best part of working at the company?
No communication. Team leaders were not good acted like you were constantly bothering them. I would not recommend 
this company. When you raise concerns your immediately laid off for company restructure.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working with the team and the managers

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible and stressful they promote mental health awareness but really make you feel terrible everyday.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and frustrating. Made to feel like you were dumb and no help and made you feel like you didn’t belong on the team. Was told I was annoying for asking questions. 10/10 would not recommend working for this company
