Full Job Description

Payroll Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team and manage high-volume payroll processing for approximately 700 employees across multiple departments. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration while supporting various HR functions, including employee onboarding, benefits administration, and personnel record maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong ADP experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration

Process weekly, bi-weekly, and/or semi-monthly payroll for approximately 700 employees using ADP.
Review, audit, and validate payroll data including timekeeping records, deductions, garnishments, benefits, bonuses, commissions, and adjustments.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Manage payroll-related inquiries and resolve employee payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Process new hires, terminations, status changes, direct deposit updates, and tax changes within ADP.
Maintain payroll records and prepare payroll reports as needed.
Assist with year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing and audits.
Coordinate with Finance and HR teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

Human Resources Support

Assist with onboarding activities, including new hire paperwork and system setup.
Maintain employee personnel files and HR records.
Support benefits administration, enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
Assist with leave administration, including FMLA, disability, and other employee leave programs.
Support employee relations initiatives and HR projects as assigned.
Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Assist with HR reporting, audits, and record retention requirements.

Qualifications

3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees required; experience with 700+ employees preferred.
Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar ADP platforms.
Knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and tax requirements.
Understanding of HR processes, benefits administration, and employee records management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and reporting.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation a plus.
Experience supporting multi-state payroll processing.
Familiarity with HRIS systems and timekeeping platforms.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $74,000.00 per hour
