Your new role
As our new Payroll and Tax Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting payroll operations across the U.S. while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors. This role is responsible not only for payroll processing, but also for ensuring compliance with multi-state tax regulations, resolving complex payroll issues, and supporting audit and correction activities.
Your key responsibilities will be:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, audit employee tax setups, including multi-state and local taxation, and maintain and update state tax configurations.

Manage payroll corrections, including W-2C processing and amended tax filings.

Assist with calculating the organization’s payroll on a regular basis (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly) using ADP Workforce Now.

Process timely payment of wages, salaries, bonuses, and deductions accurately.

Maintain and update payroll information, including employee records and payroll adjustments.

Generate and distribute payroll reports and statements.

Prepare manual checks and wire requests as needed.

Address and resolve payroll-related queries from employees.

Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure proper integration of payroll data.

Assist in the preparation of financial audits related to payroll.

A minimum of 5 years of experience performing payroll functions.

Strong knowledge of US Payroll Tax Regulations and the ability to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, audit employee tax setups, including multi-state and local taxation, and maintain and update state tax configurations.

Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, SAP).

Familiarity with labor and tax laws.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Salary Transparency
At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $86,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
