Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, on-site HR Manager (Generalist) to own the full human-resources function for our Adelanto operations. This is a true generalist role: full-cycle recruiting through offboarding with a heavy emphasis on California wage-and-hour compliance, documentation discipline, and employee relations in a licensed cannabis setting. You will be the sole HR presence on site, reporting to ownership/executive management.

The right candidate treats clean documentation and consistent, lawful process as the core of the job. You will build and maintain the systems (handbook, acknowledgments, timekeeping, investigation files, interactive-process logs, termination checklists) that keep a regulated, high-scrutiny workforce compliant and protected.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, with at least 2 years in a California hourly/non-exempt environment (agriculture, manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or cannabis).
Working knowledge of California wage-and-hour law.
Demonstrated experience running workplace investigations and maintaining defensible documentation.
Experience administering leaves of absence and accommodations under California law (CFRA, PDL, paid sick leave) and managing workers’ compensation claims.
Proficiency with HRIS/payroll platforms (Gusto a plus) and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass any background requirements applicable to licensed cannabis workplaces.
Able to work full-time on-site at our Adelanto facility.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior HR experience in the licensed cannabis industry, including familiarity with DCC licensing, employee badging, Labor Peace Agreements, and track-and-trace (METRC) workforce requirements.
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience with IWC Wage Order 14 (agricultural) workforces, piece-rate compensation, and/or seasonal harvest staffing.
Cal/OSHA and safety-program experience in a cultivation, extraction, or manufacturing environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 per year (full-time, exempt), depending on experience.
Paid vacation, California paid sick leave, and paid holidays.
Growth opportunity: build the HR function for a multi-site, multi-entity cannabis group with expansion underway.

Work Environment

This position is based full-time at our Adelanto, CA cultivation and manufacturing facility. The role involves regular floor presence. Standard schedule is Monday–Friday.
