Custodian/Sexton Position

Akron Ohio

Part-Time: 18 hours per week with flexibility to accommodate seasonal variation in duties

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Maintenance Worker to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks, handling custodial equipment, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of our premises. Your proactive approach and attention to safety will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where your skills in cleaning, facilities maintenance, and safety protocols will be highly valued.

Duties:

Cleaning all areas of the church building and grounds, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, window cleaning, carpet/floor cleaning, general maintenance as needed. Collecting garbage and putting out for pick up. Grounds maintenance including litter pickup, mowing, including parking lot. Setting up for parish meetings and cleaning up afterwards. Other assignments as needed.

Experience:

Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred. Knowledge of floor materials and cleaning methods.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
