Project Manager Engineer – Industrial Projects

TANN Corporation, based in Kaukauna, WI, in design, manufacturing, and maintenance of air pollution control equipment. We provide custom-designed systems and turnkey solutions. Our thermal oxidizers are installed all over the world for applications such as automotive manufacturers, aerospace, food processing, chemical manufacturers and many more.

The Role | Project Manager Engineer – Industrial Projects

TANN Corporation is seeking a motivated Project Engineer Manager to join its growing team in Kaukauna, WI. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of industrial air pollution control projects from planning through completion. This includes working closely with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while maintaining TANN’s high standards for quality, service, and safety.

As a Project Manager Engineer – Industrial Projects, you will take charge of high-value industrial engineering projects from concept through commissioning. You will be the central orchestrator balancing technical design, contractor coordination, budget management, and client communications.

This role is perfect for someone who lives in the intersection of engineering discipline and project management leadership. We’re not looking for just any Project Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management: Responsible for all aspects of the project from beginning to completion including but not limited to project planning & definition, schedule & budget management, engineering oversight, cross-functional coordination, procurement & vendor management, risk & change management, quality assurance & compliance, documentation & reporting, customer engagement and team leadership.
Oversee Execution: Direct and supervise contractors, vendors, and internal teams to meet project milestones.
Control Budgets & Schedules: Establish cost controls and maintain timelines with laser precision.
Risk & Compliance: Identify project risks and mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the main point of contact with clients and ensure alignment of expectations and deliverables.
Travel: Up to 30–40% required (domestic and/or international based on project needs) .

What You Must Have (Required Experience):

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical) or a closely related field from a four-year accredited university required.
2-5 years equivalent experience in industrial manufacturing, engineering, or system design in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with demonstrated ability to manage technical projects and interface with fabrication or environmental control systems such as RTOs.
Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on engineering work prior to taking on project management duties.
Skills: Strong grasp of engineering principles, scheduling project controls, project coordination from beginning to end and building long-standing trust with customers (internal and external).
Willingness and excitement to travel: 30%-40% travel is required for this position.
A sharp mind, calm under pressure, driven by deadlines and inspired by impact.

Would be Nice for You to Have (Preferred Experience):

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field from a four-year accredited university, with coursework or project experience relevant to industrial manufacturing or environmental control systems, such as RTOs, is ideal for this role.
3+ years of experience in project management or industrial equipment installation preferred.
Familiarity with industrial insulation practices and materials.
Strong mechanical aptitude and physical stamina.
