Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Turning Lathe Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming at the control, setting up, and operating a 2018 Doosan Turning Center to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC machining, blueprint interpretation, and tooling will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to innovative manufacturing projects.

Duties

Set up CNC lathe machines, including fixture installation, tooling selection, and calibration to meet precise specifications.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
Operate CNC lathes (such as Fanuc or similar controls) to produce high-quality parts with tight tolerances using precision measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
Conduct manual machining when necessary using hand tools, grinders, and other machining tools to support production or repair tasks.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC G-code programming and Fanuc Controls.
"MUST BE ABLE TO PROGRAM AT THE CONTROL"
Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and measurement techniques for quality assurance.
Experience operating CNC lathe machines with Fanuc controls or equivalent systems.
Knowledge of machining tools such as mills, grinders, boring bars, and hand tools used in metalworking environments.
Mechanical knowledge including machine setup, tooling selection, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
Ability to interpret technical drawings related to plastics injection molding or metal components.
Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control purposes.
Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feed rates, speeds, and tolerances in machining processes.
Familiarity with manual machining techniques for prototype or repair work when needed.
Understanding of safety protocols related to CNC machining environments including proper use of power tools and welding equipment where applicable.
