Full Job Description

CNC Programmer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these 2D/3D Product Drawings.
Use computer software to model cutting paths and programs changes accordingly.
Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and preventative maintenance.
Train employees in how to properly operate CNC machines and programs.

COMPETENCY:

Willing to travel locally (40 miles max.) between other plants when needed.
Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required.
Previous experience as a CNC programmer is required.
Previous experience with MasterCam is required.
Milltronics and ThermWood CNC experience is helpful.
Must have strong attention to detail.
Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and 2D/3D Drawings.
Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise with the CNC machinery.
The ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.
Should have a positive and professional attitude.
Available to work weekends and overtime when needed.
Capable of standing for extended periods of time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work under pressure during the troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.
Ability to deescalate stressful situations when working with coworkers and contractors.
Ability to legally operate company vehicles.
Ability to work occasional overtime.
Ability to accommodate overnight hotel stays at remote sites. (Rare occasion)
Self-driven, with solid verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously with good prioritization skills.
Ability to maintain a neat and organized work area.
Physical abilities to including lifting of 20-25 lbs.
