Healthcare Administrator

Open Door Clinic – Vancouver, Washington

About Open Door Clinic

Open Door Clinic is a new sexual health clinic based in Clark County, Washington. We have not yet opened our doors. We plan to open this year and offer services to all patients, regardless of ability to pay. We will begin with one-day-a-week services for:

Walk-in STI testing and treatment
HIV prevention (including Preexposure Prophylaxis and Postexposure Prophylaxis)
HIV treatment
Anal cancer screening and prevention

The clinic is currently owned and operated by a single physician (Dr. Jonathan Armstrong, MD—a family medicine doctor, HIV specialist, and high resolution anoscopist) with plans to transition to a worker-owned cooperative model within the next three years, in which all clinic staff will collectively share ownership of the organization. This means that each worker of the clinic will take part in deciding how the business is run and what to do with the profits.

As the clientele grows, we plan to expand clinic hours to a full-time, 5-day-a-week clinic, and broaden our scope of services to include primary care/family medicine. We also would like to add additional providers in the future.

Because we would like to offer services to all people, including uninsured and underinsured individuals, we will need to explore funding streams in addition to medical insurance reimbursements. This may include grant funding, industry funded research projects, and 340B pharmacy pricing. The Healthcare Administrator will need to take part in managing and assisting with applications for these programs.

We are seeking a Healthcare Administrator who is excited about helping build a mission-driven clinic from the ground up and supporting long-term growth into a full scope primary care, worker-owned cooperative healthcare practice.

Position Summary

The Healthcare Administrator will oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the clinic and support the development of systems necessary for long-term sustainability and growth. This role will be central to operational planning, financial management, compliance, grant administration, and future program development.

This is an ideal role for someone with significant prior healthcare administration experience who is interested in participating in the early development of an expanding clinic with a strong public health mission. Experience in grant applications and management is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage daily administrative operations of the clinic
Oversee billing systems and revenue cycle management
Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and reporting
Ensure regulatory and licensing compliance
Support HR functions including hiring, onboarding, and staff coordination
Coordinate clinic scheduling and operational workflows
Assist with implementation of policies and procedures
Support development of expanded service lines (e.g., primary care)

Grants & Research Responsibilities

Identify grant and research funding opportunities
Assist with grant application writing and submission
Support research proposal development
Manage awarded grants and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
Coordinate research-related administrative processes as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a Healthcare Administrator or similar leadership role
Experience managing healthcare operations
Experience with grant administration or research project management
Experience with grant writing or research proposal development
Familiarity with sexual health services, HIV care, or public health programming
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to work independently in a developing organizational structure

Compensation & Benefits

Full-time salaried position ($80,000 to $110,000 per year)
