Full Job Description

Make an impact as a dedicated educator supporting deaf and hard of hearing students in a school community near Birmingham, AL. You’ll collaborate as part of a supportive team, engaging closely with other professionals—including another experienced teacher already on-site placed through our agency—ensuring a thorough, welcoming screening process.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
Possession of a valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate
Meets Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements, or willingness to fulfill them within the designated timeframe
Holds or is eligible to obtain the required DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) licensure for Alabama
Background in providing instruction, support, and accommodations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an inclusive and collaborative approach
Ability to develop individualized lesson plans and work closely with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction and specialized support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Adapt curriculum and classroom environments to foster student engagement, inclusivity, and success
Collaborate with general educators, administrators, and other service providers to promote seamless learning experiences
Advocate for the needs of hearing-impaired students within the school and community
Implement evidence-based teaching strategies and assistive technologies
Maintain accurate records and track student progress towards individualized educational goals
