Full Job Description

Director of Community Education — Idaho Medical Academy Where Your Journey Begins

Idaho Medical Academy is a postsecondary technical school preparing people for healthcare careers — and our Community Education Division exists to make our region safer by putting life-saving skills into more hands. We're looking for a Director of Community Education to lead that mission: growing access to first-aid, CPR, and emergency-response training for employers, first responders, hospitals, schools, and neighbors across the community.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to our CEO. You'll lead a team of instructors, run the operations of our American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center, and build the partnerships that carry nationally recognized training into our community.

What you'll do

Lead, develop, and grow a team of AHA instructors — recruiting, credentialing, coaching, and supporting their performance
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Training Center and community programs, from the course calendar to equipment readiness
Own the division's budget and drive strategies to grow enrollment and expand partnerships
Serve as the Academy's AHA Training Center Administrator, keeping the Center and all affiliated sites fully compliant with AHA standards
Lead community programs — CPR, Heartsaver, Stop the Bleed, Wilderness First Aid, and more — and represent the Academy at outreach events and with regional partners

What we're looking for

A people-first leader with 2+ years of leadership or management experience and a track record of developing teams
Hands-on experience in education, training, program management, or operations (healthcare or training-center experience is a welcome plus)
A clear communicator and natural collaborator who can represent the Academy with confidence
A resourceful, take-initiative problem-solver
A genuine eagerness to learn — AHA credentials aren't required on day one, but the successful candidate will earn AHA BLS Instructor certification within 60 days of hire

Nice to have

Director-level experience with budget ownership
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Healthcare Administration, Business, Education, Public Health, Nursing, EMS, or Health Sciences) — though substantial professional experience can stand in for a degree
Prior AHA or community-education experience, or current provider/instructor certification (BLS, ACLS, PALS, Heartsaver)

What we offer Employer-sponsored health insurance and paid time off (PTO), in addition to your base salary.

Note: This role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to transport and set up training equipment up to ~40 lbs. Evening and weekend availability is needed to support course scheduling and community programming.
