Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Caregiver to provide essential support and care for individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring assistance in their daily lives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through personalized care, patience, and understanding. This role involves working closely with clients in their home environments.

Duties

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Provide patient monitoring and observation to ensure safety and well-being.
Assist with medication as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual needs.
Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Experience
Candidates should have experience or training in the following areas:

Previous experience in in- home care, or assisted living settings.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care is highly desirable.
Skills in patient observation and communication.
Knowledge of caregiving techniques including heavy lifting when assisting clients.

Must be able to pass a background check with the Dept. of Health and Welfare.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
