Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist 2nd shift to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience with various machining techniques. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes while utilizing advanced tools such as CNC lathes, milling machines, and precision measuring instruments. Your expertise will ensure that production standards are met efficiently and accurately, supporting our commitment to excellence in manufacturing.

Duties

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to determine machining requirements.
Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and manual coding techniques.
Set up CNC equipment including lathes, milling machines, and associated tooling to prepare for production runs.
Operate CNC machinery with precision, ensuring parts meet specified tolerances using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
Conduct routine inspections of machined parts utilizing precision measuring instruments to verify quality standards.
Perform maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to machine operation or tooling.
Follow safety protocols diligently while handling power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing machining processes and reducing waste.
Assist in assembly operations when required, ensuring components fit correctly according to specifications.
Maintain accurate documentation of machine settings, inspection results, and production logs.

Experience

Proven experience working as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment with exposure to CNC lathe and milling machines.
Proficiency in CNC programming using G-code and CAM software; familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred.
Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T principles for precise machining.
Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of tooling selection, setup procedures, and basic math skills for calculations related to machining dimensions.
Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is advantageous.
Familiarity with SolidWorks or CAD software for part design review is a plus.
Ability to operate precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines confidently.
Knowledge of plastics injection molding or welding processes is beneficial but not mandatory.
Commitment to safety standards and quality assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
