Full Job Description

Kennedy Watkins LLC, a plaintiff’s personal injury and wrongful death firm litigating cases in both state and federal court, is seeking a full-time associate attorney to join our growing team. This role is in person at our downtown Chicago office, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Responsibilities

Appear for court calls at the Daley Center and via Zoom
Draft and respond to written discovery
Prepare clients for deposition and represent them during testimony
Take depositions of defendants and defense witnesses
Evaluate and screen new client intakes
Use and maintain our case management system (Clio)
Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel

Requirements

Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing
Prior experience or strong interest in personal injury litigation preferred
Excellent analytical and legal writing skills with attention to detail
Strong verbal communication and client-relations skills
Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a team
Professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to high-quality representation
