Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Outpatient Oncology RN for a GU/Uro clinic position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

Work in an outpatient oncology clinic within a teaching hospital setting
Care for patients in the GU/Uro clinic, including bladder, kidney, and prostate cancer cases
Patient ratio of 1:12
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
No weekend requirements
No on-call responsibilities
Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Epic charting experience required
Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Previous charge RN experience preferred
Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
Experience administering blood and blood products
Skilled in symptom management including altered mental status, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy
Experience with chemotherapy administration, including body fluid handling, cytotoxic spill management, and oral chemotherapy administration
Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
Skilled in Foley catheter insertion/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, neutropenic precautions, and phlebotomy
2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

Provide outpatient oncology care to patients with bladder, kidney, and prostate cancer
Perform post-surgical care as part of clinic responsibilities
Navy blue scrubs required
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Former employees eligible for assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility
Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler consideration
RTO must be submitted with the contract and is limited to 7 days or less
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
