Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision and management of the Operations Department and exercises a high level of initiative and judgment in handling day‑to‑day operational activities and customer inquiries. This role requires strong coordination, time management, leadership, and financial oversight to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations in alignment with company and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

Ensure completion of safety responsibilities including monthly safety meetings, site inspections, hours worked tracking, and other required activities.
Ensure all safety legislation is adhered to and actively participate in all FourQuest Health & Safety policies and practices.
Communicate any HSE issues or concerns to the Manager or Supervisor and provide constructive solutions.
Ensure client safety obligations are met as per contractual agreements and communicated to all involved parties.
Execute health and safety initiatives and mentor staff in these areas.

Operations Management

Accountable for the financial performance of Operations within the department, including P&L, costing, and net income.
Use cost‑benefit thinking to set priorities and identify cost‑effective approaches.
Monitor overall departmental performance and adjust allocation of financial resources based on progress against goals.
Plan, execute, and finalize operational projects in accordance with company and client procedures, timelines, and budgets.
Manage and coordinate departmental work plans, including assigning work activities, monitoring workflow, and reviewing work methods and procedures.
Monitor and control all project phases, including change orders, costs, schedules, budgets, and timelines.
Manage procedure execution, equipment, and manpower in conjunction with the Project Manager.
Oversee completion of field paperwork and invoice processing.
Monitor and manage all equipment builds and maintenance.
Manage office facilities and associated maintenance.
Monitor and manage subcontractors and vendors.
Track employee hours, approve timesheets, and manage employee and subcontractor costs.
Manage operational expenses with consideration to overall company profitability.
Assist in developing manpower, time, equipment, and material requirements for proposals.
Provide professional operational support to other regions where the company conducts business.

Leadership

Perform annual performance reviews for direct reports and develop growth plans to support a high‑performance culture.
Oversee and participate in manpower planning, recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training.
Empower employees to identify innovative approaches to enhance organizational performance.
Create an environment that rewards and recognizes demonstration of core company values.
Develop and standardize procedures and methods to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Assess workloads, administrative systems, and support processes; identify opportunities for improvement.
Manage organizational and operational changes and their impacts on the team.
Develop and execute policies, procedures, and programs that directly affect operations performance.
Ensure all direct reports understand expectations and support them in meeting those expectations.
Actively coach employees to support their professional and personal development and advancement.

Other

Work with all employees on site regarding issues related to provided services.
Work closely with company management in setting, executing, and monitoring business goals and policies.
Ensure adherence to HSE and Quality Management Systems.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

High School Diploma (Required)

Experience

10+ years of experience in oil and gas field services related to company service lines.
10+ years of experience in commissioning and pre‑commissioning.
5+ years of knowledge of core service offerings.
5+ years of supervisory experience, including work planning, assignment, review, evaluation, and staff training.
5+ years of experience with advanced administrative principles including goal setting, program development, project management, and implementation.

Certifications (Required)

Class C Driver’s License
Basic Plus certification

Preferred Training and Certifications

2‑year technical or community college diploma/degree in Chemical Engineering Technology, Petroleum Engineering, or related discipline
Certificate or diploma in Management or Leadership
CDL license
TWIC
Basic or Advanced First Aid
PMP or equivalent professional certification

Work Environment and Conditions

Office hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; as a managerial role, schedule flexibility is expected to meet business needs.
Site visits required based on client or business needs.
Requires constant attention, concentration, and alertness.
Manages complex situations requiring on‑the‑spot decisions and rapid turnaround.
Work involves both office and field environments.
Exposure may include wet or uneven ground, heavy tools and machinery, chemical substances, extreme weather, dirt, dust, and noise.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
