Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse

Shift - Nights (1900-0730) every other weekend

Job Summary

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. In this vital role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to less acute settings, ensuring seamless care coordination, accurate assessments, and compassionate support.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the progressive care unit, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing complex medical conditions such as cardiac, neurological, or respiratory issues.
Conduct detailed patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations, to inform individualized care plans.
Utilize EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient data, medical records, and treatment progress.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure continuity of care across settings.
Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusions, suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, and aseptic techniques to support patient recovery.
Respond swiftly to acute changes in patient condition using critical care response procedures; manage airway interventions and ventilator support when necessary.
Educate patients and their families on health management strategies including pain management techniques, medication administration, and post-discharge instructions to promote health literacy.

Requirements

Valid RN license in the state of OR.
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
NIHSS certification.
PCU and basic EKG experience preferred.
