Full Job Description

Vandalia Blacktop & Sealcoating, Inc., a reputable commercial and residential asphalt contractor serving the Miami Valley for over 50 years. Vandalia Blacktop & Sealcoating, Inc. is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive wage and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K retirement plan with company match, and more.

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for accurately processing invoices, managing vendor payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining complete and accurate financial records. This role requires a solid understanding of accounts payable processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting the finance operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

· Process invoices accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures

· Verify invoice accuracy, coding, and approvals before payment processing

· Prepare weekly payment runs

· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies promptly

· Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

· Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers

· Prepare accounts payable reports as requested

· Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls

· Support the Operations Manager with administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required. Post secondary education is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in an accounts payable role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
Familiarity with QuickBooks
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of all financial and business information

· Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
