Full Job Description

Housekeeping Manager

General Purpose of the Job

Ensure the cleanliness standards are maintained, inventory items are in each unit and maintenance request are reported and corrected in timely manner. Manage the daily operation of the employee assigned to clean the resort units.

Daily Duties and Responsibility

· Reports to the General Manager

· Direct the daily operation of the housekeeping employees, to include the supervision and continuing training

· Learn resort software and be able to post transactions as necessary

· Communicate via two-way radio to various departments

· To ensure that the established cleanliness standards, quality and safety are met

· Conduct unit inspections of all units cleaned by housekeepers

· Ensure that the housekeepers have met all of the cleanliness procedures required

· Conduct inspections of all sidewalks and grounds surrounding the guest units ensuring that the grounds persons have met the standards of cleanliness require

· Observe all housekeeping personal at work to determine efficiency of time spent and progress on work assigned

· Document work maintenance request and follow up to ensure completion

· Maintain adequate supplies, linen and equipment for daily use, controlling the issuance on a daily basis

· Ensure the accuracy of unit status reports being forwarded to the front desk and Resort Manager

· Interface with front desk regarding clean status of all guest units

· Ensure that all special projects and general cleaning status is reported to management with all pertinent information necessary to maintain accurate records

· Constantly seek/implement new and improved work methods

· Assist in the hiring, training, discipline and performance reviews of all team members

· Explain, monitor and control the usage and storage of all chemicals and equipment

· Enforce all rules/ regulations of the department and resort

· Cross-train with all department functions in order to cover during absences

· Perform other tasks required by the Resort Manager

Entry Level Requirements

· Must have excellent English skills (written and verbal), bilingual a plus

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Valid state driver’s license

· Supervisory experienced desired

· Able to perform inspections using guideline set forth

· Must demonstrate leadership and motivational ability towards employees

· Using initiative and independent judgement within established procedural guidelines

· Customer Service experience desired

· Able to work flexible schedule and be on call 24 hours a day in emergency

· Ability to demonstrate good judgement when dealing with guest and staff members

Physical Requirements

· Regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds

· General dexterity for firm and simple grasping of objects and periodically fine dexterity

· Periodically kneel, reach, crawl, and twist to accomplish required tasks

· Push and/or pull such as when using a cart to carry linens, cleaning supplies, etc.

· Stand for extended periods

· Frequently walk and climb/descend stairs
