Full Job Description

Job Role: Meter Verification Service Technician

Primary Job Role and Responsibilities: Technician will be responsible for field verification of water meters out in distribution, as well as verify flow meters within municipal water treatment plants. Additional service duties will be required based on USA project demands.

· Knowledge of- various aspects of the water and wastewater treatment process, to include water meters, water quality Instrumentation, clamp on ultrasonic meters, volumetric large (1.5’’ and above) water meter testing, and electromagnetic flow meters. Familiarity with AWWA 700 standards is preferred.

· Experience working with municipal water treatment plants, with exposure to facility operations and distribution system maintenance.

Field Support - Provide field support to USA Customers and on USA projects as needed to include water meter testing, verification of electromagnetic flow meter, water meter surveys, oversight and quality control of 3rd party vendor field work, vacuum trailer use/meter pit maintenance and water meter installation.
Service Reports – Create work orders using work order management (WOMS) software, complete the log the work at each location. Able to deliver to customers within 2 business days of completing work.
Inventory Management – Manage work truck inventory to achieve a high level of proficiency when onsite at each utility location.
Customer Relations - Ideal candidate strives to maintain the highest customer service standards possible with current and new customers while performing field duties.
Vendor Relationship - Maintain a professional and positive relationship with Vendors

· Frequent Travel – As defined as 75% of the time. Must be able to travel throughout FL, GA, TN, NC, & SC for work to include overnight stays.

· Must be able/willing to obtain new certifications to further industry knowledge, confined space certification is preferred.

Able to work in a variety of locations without assistance
Technical aptitude and understanding
Plumbing skills with hands on experience
Basic to advanced computer and mobile application skills are a must
Must be willing to travel frequently and overnight for work
Must have and maintain a good driving record
Must pass a drug test

Read <PERSON> meters and other technical devices to monitor system performance and identify issues promptly.
Assist with cabling installation, heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and mechanical repairs as required in outdoor environments.
Follow DOT regulations, NEC standards (National Electrical Code), and safety procedures diligently during all field activities.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about work progress or service interruptions while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Qualifications

Proven experience in utility locating, electrical work, or related field service roles within the energy or utilities sector.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and power equipment.
Ability to read technical documents including NEC standards, and safety protocols accurately.
Physical capability for heavy lifting, climbing in and out of structures, walking extensive distances (transportation method), and manual handling of equipment.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving commercial vehicles preferred.
Knowledge of DOT regulations regarding transportation safety and compliance requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills with basic math proficiency for measurements and calculations related to field tasks.
Commitment to safety protocol adherence in outdoor work environments under varying weather conditions.
Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
