Full Job Description

About the Role

The Stafford Standard is a growing accounting and advisory firm, and we’re hiring a Staff Accountant to own core accounting work across a portfolio of multi-entity clients. You’ll handle accounts payable, weekly bank activity, and monthly reconciliations, plus the full range of standard staff accountant responsibilities. This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one.

What You’ll Do

Process accounts payable end to end — code, enter, and schedule vendor bills and payments accurately and on time.
Update weekly bank activity across multiple entities and keep cash records current.
Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies independently.
Maintain the general ledger — record journal entries, accruals, and prepaids, and support the month-end close.
Manage accounting for multiple entities, keeping intercompany activity and entity-level records clean and accurate.
Own your assigned clients: understand their books, anticipate needs, and be the reliable point of contact for their accounting.
Spot issues, ask good questions, and improve processes — flag what’s not working and help build better workflows.
Support additional staff accountant duties and firm projects as we grow.

What You Bring

Multi-entity accounting experience — required. You’re comfortable managing the books for multiple entities at once.
Solid grasp of core accounting: AP, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
Client ownership. You take responsibility for your work and your clients without needing to be chased.
Independent, critical thinking. You think through problems, question what doesn’t add up, and bring solutions.
Confidence in your abilities and a real desire to contribute to a growing team and business.
Comfort with change — you can work within streamlined processes and help build the ones that aren’t there yet.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

Nice to Have

Entrata experience — a plus but not required. We’ll teach the right person.
Experience in an accounting firm, real estate, or property management environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
