Full Job Description

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day accounts payable operations in a fully remote environment. This position will be responsible for invoice processing, payment preparation, vendor account maintenance, reconciliations, and resolving invoice discrepancies.

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract, 2-3 months with potential for contract-to-hire
Preferred Hours: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM EST; some flexibility may be available

The initial contract is expected to last approximately 2-3 months, with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Assemble, review, and verify invoices and payment requests for accuracy.
Sort, code, match, enter, and upload invoices into the appropriate systems.
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments remain current.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
Prepare and process check runs.
Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
Maintain accurate vendor files and historical records.
Ensure financial and organizational information remains confidential.
Work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve accounts payable inquiries.
Maintain accuracy and meet established processing deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
1+ year of Accounts Payable experience.
Working knowledge of general accounting and accounts payable procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Strong data-entry and data-management skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to research and resolve discrepancies independently.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Remote Work Requirements

Ability to maintain a dedicated and secure remote workspace.
Reliable high-speed internet connectivity.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to perform repetitive computer-based tasks involving the hands, wrists, and fingers.
