Full Job Description

Wolf Contractors Inc. has been a top site contractor in the Hampton Roads area for over 41 years and has completed over 1,030 civil construction projects in the Tidewater area. Wolf Contractors is seeking a motivated individual for a full time Pipe Layer position to join our pipe crew.

As a Pipe Layer at Wolf Contractors Inc, you'll use your skills to work with a pipe crew/utility crew to install underground storm water, sanitary sewer, water line, and force main pipelines in projects throughout the Hampton Roads. Duties and responsibilities include cutting pipes for installation, installing pipes during pipeline construction, connecting pipes during installation, grading and leveling trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools, and other general labor and construction related duties as required. Must be an expert with using a pipe laser and an automatic level with grade rod. Must be able to read inverts, slopes, and grades from blueprints. Must be familiar with using a straight line transit to set up a pipe laser.

Must have clean background check to work at Newport News Shipbuilding and military bases.

Qualifications:

Successful candidate will have at least two year of prior pipe crew experience installing storm sewer, water main, and sanitary sewer.
General knowledge of pipe laying techniques.
Must be able to set up pipe laser.
Must be able to use grade rod and level.
Willing to work in a team environment.
Experience with heavy construction equipment is a plus.
Pre-employment drug screening and satisfactory driving record required.

Job Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
Basic knowledge of construction equipment
Ability to frequently lift items up to 20 lbs and the ability to occasionally lift items up to 80 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Must be safe while working or driving.
