Target Compensation: 80k - 100k

A growing organization in Old Saybrook is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to provide immediate support during a critical transition period. This is a temporary opportunity expected to last approximately 4–6 months, making it an excellent fit for a consultant or project-based professional seeking their next assignment.

The Payroll & Benefits Manager will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations for a workforce of 300+ employees while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll & Benefits Manager

As a Payroll & Benefits Manager, you will:

Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 300+ employees

Ensure accurate and timely payroll execution through ADP Vantage

Maintain payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Audit payroll data and investigate discrepancies as needed

Support employee payroll inquiries and issue resolution

Partner with HR and leadership to ensure accurate employee records

Assist with benefits administration and employee benefits-related processes

Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information

Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and documentation

Help ensure continuity and stability throughout the temporary assignment

Preferred Qualifications of the Payroll & Benefits Manager

5+ years of payroll management experience
Extensive ADP Vantage experience is required

Proven experience processing payroll for large employee populations

Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices

Benefits administration experience strongly preferred

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
