Full Job Description

Position Overview:

The El Jardín Program Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day delivery of peer service deliverables and provide clinical and administrative supervision to a multidisciplinary direct-service staff, including Case Managers, Recovery Mentors, and Harm Reduction Specialists.

The Program Supervisor will ensure that all clients receive trauma-informed, client-centered, culturally and linguistically specific case management, addiction recovery support, or harm reduction support. The ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities is imperative. The ideal individual must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. The position requires spoken and written Spanish/ English bilingual ability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises and manages a multidisciplinary team, including Case Managers, Recovery Mentors, and Harm Reduction Specialists staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations; assists with disciplining employees or recommends such actions.
Develop a Professional Development Plan with all staff members and oversee its progress.
Identifies and resolves issues within the program, ensuring smooth, efficient operation through effective leadership. Inform the Program Director of staff achievements, issues, and concerns.
Assist staff with difficult clients and or crisis de-escalation when necessary.
Attend, facilitate, or participate in individual supervision, group supervision, all-staff meetings, professional development training, and other meetings as needed.
Provide weekly peer supervision.
Audit and maintain client files, progress notes, and other records, and monitor to ensure that all direct service staff meet documentation standards for quality and timeliness.
Serves as the point of accountability and decision-making for staff and community inquiries related to peer services.
Facilitates outreach opportunities and coordinates partnerships to increase community awareness and participation with El Jardín Recovery Support Services.
Works collaboratively with community partners in a professional manner.
Oversee and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, ethics, and laws regarding client services.
Abides by organization policies and procedures, confidentiality laws, professional boundaries, peer support principles, and relevant federal/state regulations and standards.
Other duties as assigned.

Unique Supervision Duties of Harm Reduction Specialists

Oversees Harm Reduction outreach to community members and/or assists, facilitates, and engages community members in direct conversations about Harm Reduction.
Oversees and supervises training and workshops on pertinent issues, including drug use, behavioral health, overdose prevention, and Hepatitis C.
Audit gift card distribution monthly to ensure reporting accuracy and replenish supplies.

Unique Supervision Duties of Case Managers

Review client support request forms, including the Client Assistance Application and Client Food Insecurity Support Request Form, to ensure that clients are equitably accessing resources and that information is tracked. The Program Supervisor will approve or decline requests.
Ensure Case Managers are up to date on community resources and referral pathways to address client needs as best they can.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required to complete a computer literacy assessment upon hire. If the candidate does not pass the assessment, then they are required to complete an organization-dictated Computer Literacy course(s) within 90 days of Hire.
Bilingual Spanish/ English required
Bicultural- Latinx Communities required
Pre-employment drug testing and reasonable-suspicion testing may be required.
This position typically requires a High School Diploma/GED, plus 2 years of experience in peer support, case management, or harm reduction, and 1 year of peer supervision experience, preferred.
Must have reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residency, valid vehicle registration, and a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes, must also have and maintain personal auto liability coverage. All employees driving for work, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle, must complete the agency’s driving approval process before driving for work.
Must be a Certified Recovery Mentor, Peer Wellness Specialist, or Peer Recovery Counselor
Understanding of multiple pathways to recovery and recovery support services
Be fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English
At least 3 years of direct service experience with Latin populations
Demonstrated success at working effectively in a diverse, collaborative team environment, with skills in promoting inclusion and cultural responsiveness
Knowledge of community resources and referral processes for basic needs, crisis intervention, recovery support, employment, and medical and mental health.
Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Able to establish and maintain professional boundaries while providing supportive services and building trusting relationships with clients, staff, and community partners.
Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach, and conflict-resolution skills
Well-developed documentation skills and a strong commitment to quality management; ability to write accurate and concise reports while meeting tight deadlines.
Computer literate; functional ability with Microsoft programs and/ or Google Workspace.
Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing.
Able to problem-solve and develop creative approaches.
Able to delegate and train others.
