About us

Amica Software Inc. dba Amica Systems produces digital inkjet printers for industrial use. The company produces the accessories and the ink that is used with its printers. These products are sold worldwide. This position is to work in the Lab that produces ink for the printers.

Position: Quality Control Technician

Scope

The Quality Control Technician works independently to provide quality control support for Amica Systems' ink manufacturing process by inspecting and testing raw materials and ink products to ensure they meet required quality standards. The Quality Control Technician works closely with the Production Manager to develop Quality Control testing Standard Operating Procedures and to establish Quality Control standards for new and existing materials. The Quality Control Technician must be detail oriented, able to keep accurate detailed records, adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures in place and have good communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with manufacturing to retrieve samples for testing and communicate results back promptly.
Develop and maintain detailed and organized inspection reports.
Ensure compliance to company standards and specifications.
Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
Perform inspections across all stages of production.
Prepare and maintain test data for review.
Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
Communicate quality or compliance concerns to Management with urgency.
Work closely with chemist to produce small batches to ensure quality.
Perform various testing on UV curable inkjet ink following chemist’s instruction and/or standard procedures.
Accurately interpret data and test results as well as document conclusions.
Use lab equipment to manufacture small to mid-size batches for customer and application lab testing following batch instruction and test procedures.

Requirements

Associate degree in chemistry or similar Science area preferred. High School required,
Solid understanding of test equipment
Minimum of 1-2 years of inspection and/or production experience
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational skills
Good verbal and written communication skills to convey technical data, conclusions, and product recommendations.
Self-starter and multi-tasks.
Strong team spirit and time-management.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
Proficient with MS Office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
