At Eye Trends Southlake, we are a family owned private optometry practice and our MISSION is: To Provide a Positive and Memorable Patient Experience to North Texans. We complete this mission through our Elite Eye Care Services, our extensive selection of Luxury Eyewear, and our commitment to the Highest Customer Service Standards. If you would like to make this your mission as well, please read on.

We are looking for an energetic individual with outstanding sales background and customer service skills to join our rapidly growing office as an Optician! Candidate must have a keen ability to build a rapport with patients and the sales ability to offer premium products with respect to luxury brands.

The candidate needs to be able to multi-task, have good attention to detail, be well-spoken, and willing to help in all areas of the practices when needed. Ideal candidates have great commitment level, outstanding work ethic, and are interested in a long-term position/employment.

Employment Type: Full Time

Compensation:

-$20/Hr-$22/Hr depending on experience

-Monthly Bonus: Monthly Bonus based on the team success of the office (Averages $175 per month)

-$300/Month of Healthcare Reimbursement/Insurance Premium Payments payed to you tax free

Responsibilities: The duties of this position would include (but is not limited to):

All Employees:

· Greeting, welcoming, and checking patients in for their eye exams.

· Collecting payments and checking patients out.

· Answering phones.

· Obtaining insurance authorizations and filing insurance claims.

· Performing facility maintenance and cleaning/closing duties

Optician:

· Recommend premium luxury ophthalmic frames, lenses, lens coatings/materials after considering prescriptions, occupations, hobbies, lifestyle, habits and facial features (See our website for our frame lines).

· Make accurate Progressive and Bifocal measurements

· Use Lensometer to check in lens orders and verify Rx’s

· Order ophthalmic lenses with DVI and EyeFinity

· Interpret and calculate insurance benefits and co-pays based on insurance eligibility.

· File and Order lenses on Insurance Portals: Eyefinity, EyeMed, Spectera, Superior, Davis, and more (See our website for complete insurance list)

· Verify, dispense, and adjust both plastic and metal glasses.

· Keep labs stocked and clean.

· Operate Santinelli LE-1200 Edger and ICE mini+ blocking system (if needed)

-Assist with patient care responsibilities as needed

Preferences:

· Experience of 1 year or more in an optical setting as an Optician.

· Experience with Crystal Practice Management Software.

· Experience with ordering and dispensing Progressive lenses

· Experience with ordering frames from our frame lines (see website)

· Experience with ordering ophthalmic lenses with DVI and EyeFinity

Requirements:

· Experience of 1 year or more in an optometry office or optical setting.

· Experience with Vision and Medical Insurance benefits.

· Customer Service Experience: 1 year

· Excellent phone etiquette, written, and oral communication skills.

· Multi-tasker and fast learner.

· Computer savvy, minimum 30 wpm.

· Detail oriented, organized, and efficient.

· Dependable, reliable, and articulate.

Employee Hours:

· Monday-Friday: 8:40am-6:00pm

· Saturday: 8:40am-3:00pm

· Every Saturday Required.

Dress Code: Black Scrubs and clean close toed footwear. If team members have visible tattoos then they must be covered while the team member is in the office. Visible piercings are only allowed on the ears, all others must be removed prior to entering the office. If hair color is not your natural color it must be black, brown, blonde, grey, white, or red (no dyed green, blue, purple colors).
