The Sr. COBOL/CICS/DB2 Developer will leverage your deep expertise in mainframe technologies to develop, enhance, and optimize applications that power our core business operations. You ensure the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of vital systems, directly impacting our ability to deliver essential services and innovate for the future. This position is Hybrid with 25% travel to New Carrollton in Lanham, MD and 75% being fully remote.
- Develops and maintains robust and scalable applications using COBOL, CICS, and DB2 for core business functions.

Leads mainframe development initiatives, from initial design and architecture through to implementation and deployment.

Utilizes TSO/ISPF, VSAM, and MVS environments effectively to manage, monitor, and troubleshoot mainframe systems and applications.

Performs advanced application design and architecture for new features, system enhancements, and modernization efforts.

Conducts in-depth troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within legacy systems, ensuring minimal disruption.

Applies expert performance tuning techniques to optimize mainframe based applications, guaranteeing high availability and responsiveness.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Mentors junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices in mainframe technologies.

Education & Experience:

Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Brings at least 8 years of progressive experience in mainframe development.

Demonstrates significant experience in designing, developing, and supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
