Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner – Part Time
Location: RescueMD – Allen, Texas
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Employment Type: Part-time, with potential to transition to full-time
Expected Hours: Approximately 24–27 hours per week
Position Summary
RescueMD, a primary care practice located in Allen, Texas, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary clinical team.
The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to adult female patients across the lifespan. The ideal candidate will be comfortable independently managing routine gynecologic, reproductive, contraceptive, and preventive care while collaborating with RescueMD’s physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and referral partners.
This is initially a part-time, in-person position scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position may grow into a full-time opportunity based on patient demand, practice needs, performance, and the selected candidate’s interest and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive women’s health evaluations, preventive examinations, and well-woman visits.
- Obtain complete medical, gynecologic, reproductive, sexual, family, and social histories.
- Perform pelvic examinations, breast examinations, Pap smears, HPV screening, and other appropriate preventive screenings.
- Diagnose and manage common gynecologic conditions, including:
- Abnormal uterine bleeding
- Menstrual irregularities
- Dysmenorrhea
- Vaginitis and vaginal infections
- Sexually transmitted infections
- Polycystic ovary syndrome
- Premenstrual disorders
- Menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms
- Urinary complaints and uncomplicated urinary tract infections
- Provide comprehensive contraceptive counseling and management.
- Prescribe appropriate contraceptive methods, including oral contraceptives, injectable contraceptives, contraceptive patches, vaginal rings, emergency contraception, intrauterine devices, and contraceptive implants.
- Perform insertion and removal of intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants in accordance with the provider’s training, competency, credentialing, and scope of practice.
- Educate patients regarding the risks, benefits, alternatives, expected outcomes, and potential complications associated with contraceptive methods.
- Obtain informed consent and provide appropriate follow-up care after contraceptive insertion or removal.
- Provide preconception counseling, fertility education, and pregnancy testing.
- Counsel patients regarding menopause management and hormone therapy when clinically appropriate.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, pathology, and other diagnostic tests.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and current evidence-based guidelines.
- Prescribe medications within the provider’s scope of practice and in accordance with applicable Texas laws and clinic protocols.
- Identify patients requiring consultation, imaging, procedures, specialty referral, or a higher level of care.
- Coordinate referrals to obstetrics and gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, breast specialists, urogynecology, endocrinology, oncology, and other specialists as appropriate.
- Educate patients regarding reproductive health, sexual health, preventive care, nutrition, weight management, cardiovascular risk, bone health, and healthy lifestyle behaviors.
- Document all encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.
- Review and respond to laboratory results, imaging results, patient messages, refill requests, and clinical follow-up items.
- Participate in quality-improvement initiatives, clinical protocol development, and patient-safety activities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and RescueMD policies.
- Collaborate with the medical director and clinical team to support continuity of care and an excellent patient experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current national board certification as one of the following: Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner with substantial women's health or gynecology experience
- Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration, when required for the position.
- Demonstrated training and competency in contraceptive prescribing, counseling, insertion, and removal.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, procedural, and patient-education skills.
- Ability to work independently within the provider’s scope of practice while collaborating appropriately with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and electronic prescribing systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in women’s health, gynecology, primary care, or a related outpatient setting.
- Experience performing Pap smears, pelvic examinations, breast examinations, STI screening, and contraception management.
- Experience inserting and removing intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants.
- Experience managing perimenopausal and menopausal patients.
- Experience with hormone therapy evaluation and monitoring.
- Familiarity with obesity medicine, metabolic health, preventive medicine, and lifestyle medicine.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary primary care practice.
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or a comparable electronic health record system.

- Friday: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
The provider may be expected to complete reasonable follow-up tasks associated with their patient panel, including reviewing results, responding to messages, and addressing refill requests.
This position may expand into a full-time role if supported by practice growth and desired by the selected candidate.
Compensation
Anticipated compensation: $58–$62 per hour, based on licensure, certification, experience, procedural competency, and overall clinical capabilities.
Additional productivity or performance-based compensation may be available depending on the final employment arrangement.
