About Turbo Insurance Group

Turbo Insurance Group is a nationwide, technology enabled personal lines insurance brokerage that helps customers shop coverage with speed, choice, and confidence. Through mortgage and real estate partner relationships, Turbo connects with customers at critical moments in the homebuying and ownership journey and helps them navigate coverage options across a broad carrier marketplace.

Role Summary

The Sales Development Representative is responsible for calling, qualifying, and following up with assigned leads according to Turbo’s contact strategy. This role focuses on warm inbound and partner generated leads, not broad cold prospecting.

You will make outbound calls, send approved follow up messages, document every interaction, qualify customer intent and readiness, and route qualified opportunities to producers or sales specialists. The best SDRs are disciplined, fast moving, curious, resilient, and highly accurate in the CRM.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys phone based sales, wants to learn the insurance industry, and can balance urgency with a helpful customer experience.

This is not just an entry level seat. It is a fast track development role designed to prepare the right candidates for a higher earning sales career at Turbo Insurance. Most successful SDR team members can expect to spend around 6 months in this role before being considered for advancement into a licensed insurance agent position.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Contact and Follow Up

Call assigned leads quickly and consistently according to Turbo’s contact strategy.

Use approved call scripts, voicemail templates, SMS and email templates, and follow up cadences.

Prioritize leads based on lead score, timing, customer intent, partner source, and manager direction.

Make multiple structured attempts across approved channels when a customer does not answer.

Follow all rules for business hours, consent, opt outs, DNC handling, and customer communication preferences.

Maintain a professional, helpful, and confident phone presence.

Lead Qualification

Ask clear discovery questions to determine customer fit, timing, and readiness.

Confirm key information such as name, contact information, property state, homebuying or ownership status, insurance need, current coverage situation, timeline, and interest level.

Identify whether the customer is ready for a quote conversation, needs more information, should be nurtured, or is not a fit.

Listen for buying signals, urgency, objections, confusion, or partner related context.

Use Turbo’s qualification criteria to determine the correct next step.

Handoff to Producers or Sales Specialists

Route qualified leads to the appropriate producer or team based on Turbo’s process.

Schedule appointments or initiate live transfers when appropriate.

Provide clean notes so the producer understands the customer’s situation before the next conversation.

Avoid overpromising and set accurate expectations about what will happen next.

Follow up on unresolved handoffs or incomplete next steps when assigned.

CRM and Data Quality

Document all calls, attempts, outcomes, dispositions, notes, and next steps accurately and promptly.

Keep lead records clean and complete.

Update lead status according to Turbo’s definitions and workflow.

Flag duplicates, bad data, wrong numbers, opt outs, partner issues, and other exceptions.

Use CRM and dialer tools consistently throughout the day.

Customer Experience

Represent Turbo Insurance Group with professionalism, empathy, and urgency.

Help customers understand why Turbo is reaching out and how Turbo can help with home, auto, umbrella, or related personal insurance needs.

Communicate clearly, listen actively, and ask thoughtful questions.

Handle objections professionally and know when to escalate to a manager or producer.

Respect every customer’s time and communication preferences.

Team and Process Improvement

Share feedback on lead quality, scripts, objections, partner sources, and customer questions.

Participate in call coaching, training sessions, team huddles, and performance reviews.

Meet or exceed activity, contact, qualification, and quality targets.

Stay current on Turbo’s products, carrier marketplace, customer journey, and process updates.

Success Measures

Success will be measured by consistent execution, customer experience, compliance, and the quality of opportunities created for the sales team.

Activity and speed- such as outbound call volume, completed activities, speed to lead, and follow up SLA adherence.

Contact strategy- such as contact strategy completion rate, contact rate, and lead recycling accuracy.

Qualification- such as qualified lead rate, producer accepted handoff rate, appointment set rate, or live transfer rate.

Data and compliance- such as CRM accuracy, disposition completeness, call quality, and opt out or DNC compliance.

Downstream impact-such as quote rate and bound policy conversion from qualified leads, where applicable.

Qualifications

Required-

Strong phone communication skills and comfort making a high volume of outbound calls.

Customer service, inside sales, call center, retail sales, appointment setting, or similar experience.

Ability to follow a structured process and contact strategy.

Strong listening skills and ability to ask clear qualification questions.

High attention to detail and accurate data entry.

Comfortable using CRM, dialer, email, SMS, and productivity tools.

Reliable, coachable, resilient, and self motivated.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment with daily goals and performance feedback.

Professional judgment when handling customer information and communication preferences.

Preferred-

Experience in insurance, mortgage, real estate, financial services, or home services.

Property and Casualty insurance license or willingness to pursue licensing if required.

Experience working warm inbound leads or partner generated leads.

Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.

Familiarity with personal lines insurance such as home, auto, umbrella, condo, renters, or landlord policies.
