Full Job Description

This position is for all family owned businesses which currently include Hard Chrome Enterprises, Action Plating, Unstoppable US, and Intervac Design Corporation.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Manufacturing Controller / Tax Accountant to take ownership of the accounting, financial reporting, manufacturing-cost accounting, cash-flow reporting, and tax-preparation functions for multiple related businesses.

This is not a bookkeeping position.

We are looking for someone capable of becoming the financial right hand to company ownership—someone who can ensure the numbers are accurate, explain what they mean, identify problems before they become expensive, and use financial information to improve profitability and cash flow.

What You Will Own

Financial Accounting & Reporting

Own the general ledger and month-end close for multiple related companies.
Produce accurate monthly financial statements and management reporting.
Reconcile bank, credit-card, loan, payroll, intercompany, inventory, fixed-asset, and balance-sheet accounts.
Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, and journal entries.
Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Manage intercompany transactions and related-party accounting.
Develop cash-flow forecasts, budgets, variance reporting, and management KPIs.
Identify accounting errors, unsupported balances, financial risks, unnecessary spending, and opportunities to improve cash flow.

Manufacturing & Cost Accounting

Maintain accurate inventory accounting and valuation.
Reconcile physical inventory to accounting records.
Understand and analyze raw materials, WIP, finished goods, scrap, obsolete inventory, direct labor, overhead, and outside processing.
Improve job-costing and manufacturing-cost systems.
Analyze margins by company, customer, process, product/service line, and job.
Help management identify margin erosion, waste, excess inventory, poor cost recovery, and operational inefficiencies.

Tax Ownership

Own the year-end accounting and tax-preparation process for multiple entities.
Prepare complete tax workpapers and supporting schedules.
Personally prepare or substantially complete federal and state business income-tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1120-S and 1065 as applicable. (LLC, S Corp and C Corp)
Prepare book-to-tax reconciliations, depreciation schedules, officer-compensation schedules, shareholder/related-party schedules, and K-1 support.
Manage sales/use tax, 1099s, payroll-tax coordination, extensions, estimates, and recurring tax deadlines.
Identify tax-planning opportunities throughout the year—not after year-end.
Coordinate with outside CPA, legal, or specialized tax advisors when specialized expertise is appropriate.
Respond to routine tax notices and support examinations or audits.

Business Leadership

We want more than someone who records what already happened.

The successful candidate will:

Identify financial problems and recommend solutions.
Challenge questionable transactions and unsupported assumptions.
Improve controls and financial discipline.
Help ownership understand where the companies are making and losing money.
Support banking, financing, insurance, acquisitions, and due diligence as the businesses grow.
Develop into a senior financial leader capable of supporting additional companies and acquisitions.

Required Experience

7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
Strong hands-on financial accounting and month-end close experience.
Demonstrated manufacturing, inventory, job-costing, or cost-accounting experience.
Actual experience preparing business income-tax returns—not simply gathering information for an outside CPA.
Strong understanding of balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow statements, accrual accounting, and internal controls.
Advanced Excel skills and strong accounting-system experience.
Ability to independently investigate discrepancies and solve accounting problems.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Ability and willingness to work full-time onsite in Opa-locka, Florida.

CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
Experience with Sage 50 and QuickBooks is beneficial but not required.

What Success Looks Like

During the first year, you will:

Establish a reliable and timely monthly close.
Ensure all material balance-sheet accounts are properly supported.
Improve inventory accuracy and manufacturing-cost reporting.
Establish meaningful margin and profitability reporting.
Improve cash-flow forecasting.
Clean up questionable historical accounting balances.
Build a disciplined year-end tax process.
Identify meaningful tax-planning opportunities.
Give ownership accurate, timely financial information that leads to better business decisions.

This Position Is Probably Not For You If:

Your experience is primarily bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, or data entry.
You have never personally prepared business income-tax returns.
Your tax experience consists primarily of sending documents to a CPA.
You have no meaningful manufacturing inventory or cost-accounting experience.
You cannot explain how inventory valuation and manufacturing costing work.
You have difficulty identifying measurable examples of how your work improved profitability, cash flow, controls, or taxes.
You require constant direction rather than taking ownership.
You are unwilling to challenge incorrect accounting or financially risky decisions.
You are looking for a remote or hybrid position.

Compensation: $90,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
