Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Tax Preparer and become a vital part of helping individuals and organizations navigate the complexities of tax laws with confidence and precision. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in tax compliance, accounting, and financial reporting to prepare accurate tax returns, provide strategic advice, and ensure regulatory adherence. Your energetic approach will empower clients to optimize their financial situations while maintaining compliance with current tax laws and regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, and non-profit organizations using advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage.
Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.
Assist clients with estate planning strategies, wills, trusts, and estate law considerations to optimize their financial legacy.
Review financial data for accuracy through account reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
Stay current on tax law changes, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations, securities law updates, and other regulatory requirements affecting tax reporting and compliance.
Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients, providing guidance on tax law implications for mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, or other financial transactions.
Support internal teams with auditing procedures, regulatory compliance accounting, and financial report writing to ensure transparency and accuracy across all financial activities.

Qualifications

Proven experience in tax preparation with a strong understanding of individual tax laws, corporate tax expertise, and tax reporting practices.
Solid background in accounting principles including GAAP, regulatory compliance accounting, and technical accounting standards.
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is highly valued.
Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial reports and perform account analysis effectively.
Excellent client communication skills to explain complex financial concepts clearly and professionally.
Knowledge of estate planning tools like wills & trusts as well as familiarity with securities law is a plus.
Experience in public accounting or working within a regulatory environment is preferred but not required.
