Build the Future of EV Infrastructure with Tricom Networks!
We are seeking an experienced EV Superintendent to join our team in constructing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations across California. If you have EV Superintendent civil construction experience and a strong work ethic, this is your opportunity to grow with a leading contractor in a high-demand industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise crew members and subcontractors, and manage their work progress
- Set performance goals and deadlines and make all efforts to keep the projects within budget
- Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and quality standards
- Follow procedures in submitting required documents to Managers and Office staff
Electrical Scope Control: Read and interpret one-lines, site plans, load calcs. Verify conductor sizes, grounding, bonding, OCPD, and equipment ratings. Catch design issues before inspectors do (mis-sized feeders, wrong breaker curves, etc.)
Utility & Power Coordination: Coordinate with utility provider (transformer set, meter, energization). Manage temp power vs permanent power. Understand utility clearances, pad specs, and energization sequencing
Trenching & Underground Oversight: Depths, widths, conduit spacing, bends, and sweeps. Direct-bury vs duct bank vs slurry encasement. Grounding electrodes, ground rings, and inspection timing before backfill.
Civil / Concrete Interface: Charger pads, equipment pads, bollards, ADA slopes. Anchor bolt templates, elevations, drainage. Coordinate pour timing with conduit stub-ups (this is where jobs get blown).
Code & Inspection Readiness: NEC Articles 625, 110, 250, 300, 310, 705 (and local AHJ amendments). Labeling, signage, clearances, working space. Pre-walk jobs so inspections are one-and-done.
Crew Leadership (Hands-On): Run electricians, operators, and laborers. Enforce LOTO, trench safety, and arc-flash boundaries. Solve problems in the field—not just “call the PM”.
Material & Equipment Management: Long-lead items (switchgear, chargers, transformers). Verify delivered gear matches submittals. Track reels, lugs, terminations, torque tools, test gear.
Charger Installation & Integration: Mounting pedestals vs cabinets. DC fast charger vs Level 2 differences. Communication wiring, fiber, Ethernet, cellular antennas.
Testing, Commissioning & Turnover: Megger, torque verification, grounding tests. Charger startup with manufacturer or network provider. Punch-list closeout, as-builts, O&M handoff.
Schedule & Site Control: Coordinate trades (civil, striping, fencing, signage). Maintain access, parking flow, and public safety. Keep project on schedule without burning labor.
What Separates a Good Foreman from a Great One: Anticipates utility delays. Knows when a “small change” will trigger re-inspection. Can explain issues to inspectors in their language. Protects margin by preventing rework.
